I understood it just fine. Saying Sideshow is doing the right by providing a full refund implies that they're being generous. It should be expected that they provide a full refund for this mess. It is the absolute very least they could do. They shouldn't receive kudos for it.

100% CORRECT!:goodpost::clap:lecture:exactly:

While I didn’t want to pose him with the hilt in his hand I’d rater have him that way than with no saber at all. I’ll just pretend he saw a group of Sandpeople in the distance and grabbed the saber just to be ready.

Eventhough this might be a minor thing to most it still should of been communicated.

I don't think it's minor really. It's a statue not a figure. People stump up the cash for statue's because they capture a moment frozen in time of their favourite characters.

When SS changes that moment they change the entire image of the piece.

A refund is no excuse. How many people out there might have missed out on another piece because they could only afford one?

I think SS are unwittingly doing collectors a favour and the message is clear here - Keep your money in your own bank until you can see our products

I just realized that my koto cody comes with a saber which can be affixed to his belt. If kotobukiya can do it on a statue costing about $100, I see no reason for why SS was unable to.

I may just end up taking the cody saber and seeing how it looks on obiwan (granted the scale will be slightly off).

We all understand that...but some of us fell in love with this piece...we all know we can return it...but the fact they they wont even partially refund you for a "missing" item is IMHO wrong

I personally believe a partial refund is in order myself too.

At least this is being handled better than the Hammerhead missing cup fiasco. In that case Sideshow gave a different answer to everyone that called. Some got refunds, some got actual cups and others got nothing. At least everyone seems to be getting the same response though it is a sucky one.

Agreed 100%:goodpost::exactly::lecture

The only way SS will get you is by offering an EX and a reg. Everyone knows the EX will sell out first and quick. In this case there was no reg just an EX but a decent size that I wasn't worried about it selling out. I definitely think that's the best option. Keep your money when you can and only buy when you know exactly what you're getting. Everything else is subject to change and disappointment.

I agree. If a 1:6 SW figure didn't come with an unignited lightsaber that was advertised and pictured on the product page there would be a holy uprising and I guarantee you it would be rectified pretty quickly. :lol

This is exactly what I do. I never, ever pre-order anything anymore. Always wait for in-hand photos and reviews.

But even then, you can't fully trust the average collector's review. I've noticed an increase in people who like to gloss over the issues certain collectibles have. I think it's because so many (SS) collectibles arrive flawed nowadays that people are starting to think it's "normal" and that it's supposed to be this way.

They are burning the candle at both ends even with that though. With this trend of TBD on exclusives no one is jumping on board.

A case can be argued for the bigger pieces like Superman and Batman but even those pieces are very high in numbers, up close to 10,000. Which at the end of the day, isn't really all that exclusive.

It speaks volumes when the biggest franchise the world has ever seen , has trouble shifting 2000-3000 impressive statue's.

I think collectors are starting to think with their heads and not their hearts. A smart choice.

Me neither. I've even started to dip into the world of customs since I'm not happy with a lot of these mass produced items.

Wise words...very well said

I can see why Sideshow wouldn't offer a partial refund, as the statue technically isn't damaged. But as a courtesy to customers who bought directly from them, they should offer a gift card or discount off a future purchase since they failed to notify us of the change.

This isn't the first time this has happened and it certainly won't be the last. It's one of the reasons why I generally don't pre-order from Sideshow anymore. I'd rather see in-hand pics first and then see about tracking one down if I want it. I'm much more careful buying these collectibles than I used to be, especially with the dramatic price increases.

My 2cents is that although this is an amazing statue, it is still "false advertising".
Advertise one product and actually sell something "diferent" (albeit something small...) and not tell customers, is not correct imo....

For me personally this piece and the mythos Vader spoke volumes for the in between story from episodes 3 and 4....I still love this piece but dislike what SS did

100% agreed

So I opened mine last night and hands down one of the nicest and probably the heaviest statue I have from Sideshow at this scale. Obi-Wan is not tilting at a level of concern, matter of fact he looks pretty up right IMO. Overall, this thing is impressive and definitely going to be a center piece to my extensive collection. This Mythos line might even pull me from the PF line at this rate. Could not be more happy with my purchase!!

And talking about the change in edition size on the Obiwan base, this also happened on my SS Elder Predator Exclusive statue. Supposed to be 350, and my base said 325. So contrary to the feeling amongst you guys, SS is being consistent! :rotfl
