Confirmed with my fedex driver thats its arrived.

Looks pretty awesome without the blue saber.

Its gonna be very interesting with this "second batch"
Having the correct edition size a possible they could have unhilt saber.. they're receiving so much flack about this.

Wish Alex would comment about this, might have to email Mike if will be seeing a partial refund.

I posted this in another thread where a question was asked, so I will post it here as well...

Unfortunately the unlit saber on Ben Kenobi's belt did not make it into the final version of this piece and is not expected to be made. We (I'm) so very sorry that this update was not known in advance to the item getting into people's hands. If that particular omission from the piece has caused you or anyone to be unhappy with it, you (and anyone who purchased it through Sideshow directly) can contact our customer service department within 30 days of receiving their product to return it and receive a refund. I and all of Sideshow want y'all happy with the item sitting on your shelf, so if not having that missing piece makes you dissatisfied, please consider returning it. Of course, I would hope the piece (even without the unlit hilt) would still be a much liked/loved item for many collectors out there. :)

Thanks for the official response, Alex. A quick question in regards to this issue - If this is to happen with future statues that SS produces, does SS have a plan to communicate that with the customer? I ask because a lot of people are surprised by not finding that saber hilt included, is there a chance something could be put in place to better communicate production changes?

Yes, yes a million times. When significant changes from prototype to final piece are made the hope is to communicate what has been changed to customers before they have it in hand (Psylocke was one example where that did occur and I want to say a past Predator piece had that happen as well).

Well, I'd ask to Alex WHY the unlit saber hasn't made it to the final production.

From the pics online it looks like a nightmare to mold it correctly and get it not to break. Its a slim piece sticking out from the much larger body. I assume there was some engineering test run where some tolerances were not met. I don't think anyone can seriously think SS did this to save a few pennies on polystone. Sometimes sculptors overreach. We kind of want them to don't we?

I always figured it was something engineering-wise. It is a small piece and had to fit into the statue in a certain way to match the flowing robes. Not to mention, I'm sure it would have been quite fragile and could have causes SS a headache in the returns department.

In answer to sculptors overreaching, I absolutely want them to. Without pushing the envelope we wouldn't get such dynamic PF poses like the recent Uncharted PF. Although I won't be getting him, that pose is amazing and would have never had been achieved a few short years ago.

If the saber blade comes out easy enough for me personally that solves the problem of display. Looking forward to coming home to this tomorrow.

Thanks for the response Alex, its hard to keep track of this thread and the other.
I like it and cannot wait till get home from work to unbox it but, I'm just a little disappointed we're left in the dark about till it was shipped. Better communication any changes to avoid this amount of "e-rage".

Customer service ain't easy work good luck pally.

Thank you for the information, Alex. :duff

Word of caution to everyone; if you respond to Alex...BE CIVIL.

Exactly. We are all adults, albeit those that collect large statues of fictional characters. Mine arrives tomorrow and I'll figure out how to display it. My biggest choice will be Alec or Ewan. I'm guessing I'll have monthly switch out.

If I was still teaching here in town I would do that. I would dream of it where I'm at now.

It's a nice perk to have here. Even with school on spring break the district office will be open. :D

Same here, DD, I need to clear some space tonight for ol'Obi-Wan!

mine just arrived - still just iphone pics, but pics nonetheless. I set him on a level shelf and the lean is not that bad to me (and I was quite worried)...

I understand that. It was nice when I could do it. I'm way away from the house now and I wouldn't want to leave anything valuable out for my students.
