my thoughts on this piece -

The unlit saber hilt is a tad bothersome. I can definately get over it. It was SS handling of the issue that bothers me.

Some of the early pics showed a very pronounced lean and I told myself if mine leaned that much I was not keeping him. Luck was on my side, as I set him up this afternoon the lean was there, but not near as bad as I had feared. Also, it does keep with the "it's windy out here" theme.

Since I don't have the unlit saber hilt to display, for me there is no other option to display him other than him holding his lightsaber. However, I can't imagine a Jedi wandering through the Jundland wastes with an ignited lightsaber.

The detail on this piece is just mind-boggling. One thing that just jumps at me is the amazing headsculpts. Reverse aging Guiness was a stroke of genius and they pulled it off better than I could have imagined. Since I'm strictly OT, I highly doubt the younger Kenobi is ever displayed, but his sculpt is equally as good.

I'll be honest, the 1200 on the base kind of bothers me. Yes, I know there are 2000, but it would be nice to have the actual product reflect the actual amount of statues. I don't care what number I get, but I like them to be correct.

Could SS have done better? Absolutely. There were some bumps along the way, but SS may have just delivered the most sought-after Obi-Wan Kenobi piece ever.

I missed my delivery today. I look forward to seeing this in person even with the missing hilt. Great pics guys and gal and congrats to all that have already received him.

You plug them into the Lightsaber. I left mine out.

Josh, he's asking about Ben's saber. Which is glued in on mine. I'm fine with it.

Ah got ya. Ignore me then. :lol
:lol

Well that's a bit disappointing. I really like the option of removing the blades on my Maul Mythos, would have been nice to have that option with Kenobi.

At least it's easy to pull out from what others have said.

Is no one bothered by the ignited saber hilt being too small?

It looks like we won't get an answer for why SS did not include the additional saber, but I can't see it being a technical issue. Koto did it on a $100 statue.

They'll tell you all the normal jargon but they'll never tell you exactly what the real problem is. Just a bunch of generic responses. Just to smooth you over where you feel like they've addressed it and they feel like they've addressed it, but in reality the problem remains unanswered.

Can someone post some pics of this guy next to some 1/4 scale PFs and perhaps the Lord of the Rings Maquettes. Thinking of asking for Fett or Vader for a Birthday/christmas present and would like to get a feel for the size. From some pics that I have seen they seem much larger then I imagined.

General grevious, obi wan mythos, and darth maul mythos compare the sizes.

Honestly do not notice a lean but I have paint issues on his right sleeve and the hands not fitting inside the statue. And I to have my saber broken and broken chips on his hilt.

Will take some better photos tomorrow with better lighting.
He looks great minus minor flaws.

I'd love to see Obi-Wan posed with some of the Attakus statues (I'd think the Sandtroopers or Tusken Raider could look really nice) It's all 1/5th scale, right? (although the bases are more substantial on the Mythos line)

Be curious to see them together... anyone ?

I have all of the Attakus star wars statues (except the stormtrooper, which I am looking to buy) and can take some pics when I receive mine, if someone else doesn't beat me to it.

The only Attakus statue I have is General Grevious. I have no idea if I spelled the right. My spelling sucks.

I posted this in another thread where a question was asked, so I will post it here as well...

Unfortunately the unlit saber on Ben Kenobi's belt did not make it into the final version of this piece and is not expected to be made. We (I'm) so very sorry that this update was not known in advance to the item getting into people's hands. If that particular omission from the piece has caused you or anyone to be unhappy with it, you (and anyone who purchased it through Sideshow directly) can contact our customer service department within 30 days of receiving their product to return it and receive a refund. I and all of Sideshow want y'all happy with the item sitting on your shelf, so if not having that missing piece makes you dissatisfied, please consider returning it. Of course, I would hope the piece (even without the unlit hilt) would still be a much liked/loved item for many collectors out there. :)

But you see, that's exactly the problem, Alex. You are SS, and every single communication of yours screams 'we are collectors too' and now you instantly (and if I may add, conveniently) revert to 'manufacturer speak' and talk about omissions, dissatisfaction, returns and refunds. Do you really think this is about the money?! You really think someone who cares about money would spend 449$ on getting what is essentially just a piece of polystone? You know that's not true, right. You're not manufacturers, you're creators. We're not customers, we're fans. And if it is true that with great power comes great responsibility, then handling this like you were handling a regular manufacturing line boo-boo or a regular customer complaint is in IMHO not what heroes do, or what makes you legendary. Of course, I and the other fans have no choice but to accept your 'in-stock, off-the-shelf' explanation, like we did with the Samurai Predator alien head colour snafu (we collectors are naive, that way), but when you use this as the easy way out, that is when you have truly lost respect for us. :lecture End of lecture. :thud:
