But you love the Hasbro stuff. :lol

Yeah, I do.:lol

It may be junk to the casual 1/6 eye but there's a surprising amount of spot-on little details amidst those muscle bodies, Kung Fu grip hands and Mattel cut/sew garments.

I'm just keeping the ones it comes with, since there aren't a ton of poses I'd really want to put it in.

I think I made some hands easy enough because the spiked gloves are separate.

It might have a more accurate shape, but the Tomy helmet just looks way too small to me. And I think I'd rather opt for the larger size, since it always seemed pretty big on her, especially in shots like this:

There's one ref pic in particular where the Tomy helmet seems to be a spot-on screen match but there's also a lot of pics that support the SSC one being closer. The Sideshow sculpt is a bit off in places though. I stuck with it because the SSC one really is reasonably close (it doesn't scream for an upgrade) and HT will get to this soon enough.

I agree. You'd imagine it would have to be considering the gangly and unwieldy shape of the thing. How else would you be able to get a normal shaped head inside that thing if it wasn't a little big...

And thanks for the answer. With all the upgrades people are doing, I wasn’t sure if the hands were the same. I saw a video review from 2013 that said it was difficult to get the thermal detonator to look right because the hand was so bad.

Yeah the thermal detonator is so small and cheap looking I'm not going to even bother using mine.

Picked this up last week and it is a nice figure, better than i was expecting. Came with both the stock and upgraded armor which was nice but a bit too thick mainly when viewed from the side, which I’m ok with. Some major futzing needed as well. I agree the outfit is a bit hasbro’ish with the thickness and spaced stitching but from a regular viewing distance still looks pretty damn cool. Might do a body swap if i find a nice KO body. Will never use the the Leia sculpt.
Still would like HT to do a Boushh and Chewie 2pk though.

I was going to add this to my Jabba display the other day since I have had it since release but opted for slave Leia custom instead.

I just got one of these, and there’s one problem: it was supposedly never opened, and it could be due to moisture build-up, but the rubber boots are all sticky. Anyone know of a way to preserve these?

Rubbing alcohol was mentioned earlier as the solution to that.

Funny you mention this. I picked this up awhile back and same experience. I'll try the alcohol suggestion.

Same stickiness happened with mine. It seemed brand new when unboxing. I used some foamy hand soap, a brush and water; it was slightly less tacky but then dried up sometime within that week. Seem fine now. I read somewhere that plastics (cheap?) start to breakdown like that after some time.

Didn’t the brush scratch off some of the paint? I’ve heard about other techniques (baking soda and water to make like a toothpaste — rubbed on, then rinsed off — repeat as necessary); or apply bowling talc. Another idea was clear acrylic paint, as that is supposedly what prop makers use to preserve prosthetics. I think I’ll try the soap and water next — then maybe the talc if that doesn’t work — before any of the more extreme sounding ideas.

I just used a soft paint brush and light scrubbing not too heavy handed. I’d like to clear it but not sure if it’ll start “leaking” again.

Well I thought I’d try something a little easier. Thinking about the stickiness of the seamless bodies, I decided to use a paint brush to apply a light layer of corn starch. It works — no more stickiness; I imagine it won’t stop the deterioration of the cheap plastic, but it’s working so far.

Did some mods on this fig. I'm pretty certain that HT is going to do this one, so I didn't go quite as far as I had planned. The SSC boots seem to have gone off so I had to make some new boots and I added a full range of articulation. The originals are a bit too short anyway.

I was putting the detonator ball back into the hand and noticed the paint has gone off and even the resin SSC used seems to have gone slightly soft. I'm going to cast it and make a new one, also so I can paint it to look more shiny metallic.
