I am in a dilemma. Have two options: Either go for HT ETD DX04 or EB ETD HD Masterpiece 1/4 statue (have the dough for just one). Read some really good reviews about EB's skin tone, overall quality, etc. At the same time HT DX has infinite posing possibilities, not to mention the overwhelming lot of hands/accessories. I am getting a good deal (guess) on the HT DX (non-exclusive) for $200 shipped via EMS and EB 1/4 for a little over $200. I know its like comparing apples to oranges but all I want is a fine work of art that I can display. Would really appreciate some suggestions, especially from people who own both!

as an hd 1/4 owner i (and many others) think its the best BL likeness bar none..i only own a dx BD head so i cant comment on the full set..if you want a shed load for your bucks (pick up another body to make 2 figures) then go dX or a large centrepiece to show go EB..the choice is yours.ME IN MORE THAN HAPPY WITH STATUE.

I just happened to see it in HMV yesterday and thought I'd mention the lack of the documentary in case anyone was buying it just to see it. After all, that was why I bought that copy of ETD on DVD myself.

I've just watched it and it was really good. I loved the GOD footage, has it been cleaned up on the HK Legends release?

I also changed the pose on my figure and took away the nunchucks as he didn't use them in the scenes relating to the BD I'd done.

Thanks Chris. That's what I thought. After going through Michael Crawford's review of the EB 1/4 statue, I am more inclined towards it now.

Honestly IMO th 1:4 HD1002 is too big, limited posability etc etc so I didnt go for it being a primarily BL collector. Also in terms of Likeness there are better likeness' available in the FoF, Kato and the MIS Bruce... Honestly the likeness I dont think is that strong on the HD 1002... if you see Arnie's proto you'll see what the actual likeness is like... the HD didnt manage to capture it all that well honestly. IMO its better to go for a posable 1:6th set than the 1:4th statue. More display options and futzing for money I say...

It's apples & oranges. If you prefer statues the EB is hands down the best there is and it's relatively cheap. If you prefer 1/6 than the Dx is a good bang for your buck. Can't go wrong either way.

Personally I think the HD-1002 has one of the best likenesses and the perfect representation of Bruce in pose and physique.

I never said its likeness was bad, it is certainly ONE OF the Best but simply not THE best... body wise you cant really beat a statue can you, although I think the DX04 Body really is great taking the look and the posability in mind...

If the sculpt had come out the way Arnie had intended then the EB statue would have been amazing, but, in terms of what they did when casting his sculpts, even he was disappointed with what came back from the EB factory when they were done.

Consequently I don't actually rate that 1/4 statue all that much myself and think Arnie has done, and indeed will do, better stuff in 1/6.

That said, if Arnie delivers a 1/4 statue for HT then we'll REALLY see something.

I really hope that HT and Arnie can sort out licensing and do the figures they both want to. Personally, I think EB should sign Bruce over to Arnie and concentrate on other licenses, they will never hit the peak they did with Arnie and should stop trying to.

They (EB) should concentrate on R & D and QC and their hit rate might improve. Now HT are hitting their stride, so so and nearly there aren't going to cut it anymore.

HT should forget about doing full rubber bodies, they don't need to! They will never get the articulation right. The DX is the best Bruce body that anyone has done. They should concentrate on likenesses as that is where any licensed figure will live or die.

This head just turned up on eBay, and I can't really say that I feel it, but it is cool that they are offering "real" hair and "make up" if you go "all out" on customising this head - of course it is going to cost you extra also.

I could make a laundry list of craptacular sculpts and prototypes HT has put out lately. EB Leon looks great, the only people nitpicking it are screen accuracy tittybabies just looking for something to complain about like the hat being a millimeter to big.

HT has had 3 BL releases so far and none are better than EB's best offering. The Arnie-or-bust mentality is a poor one imo.

Thank you guys for sharing your thoughts. Guess its just a matter of choice. I like both of them, however, I like EB 1/4 better just because I can't ignore the body joints on the HT one. For me, they are the only imperfectios in the perfect 1/6 BL figure till now. Anyways, that's just me.
