The Big Boss (1971) full uncut version?
In regards to the film "The Big Boss" - Bruce Lee's first feature film.

The full uncut version is in the hands of the person who authored a book on Bruce Lee - Steve Kerridge according to speculation.

Would anyone else have a copy of the full uncut version? since Kerridge is too much of a stubborn idiot to sell the film print to the video distributors.

I've been after this version for over ten years and I'm sure as hell I wouldn't have to wait another decade or so.

I am assuming you are quoting a post on another forum now mate - and not saying this yourself.

First of all, do not believe everything your read on the internet. There is allot of fools theorising about stuff they do not have the full info or inside story about. It is one of internet's many big flaws - as they for some can become "truthful".

I have known SK personally for years mate and to tell you the truth: He does not really have the full uncut version with the saw in the head scene, and what I can say about him releasing, selling or just giving the fans what he has is that there is also allot more to it than what most of us can theories about what is the reason for this and that mate.

Bey Logan has never personally seen the saw in the head scene. I know him too and actually recently asked him about the full uncut version of "Big Boss". He is in my opinion one of the most reliable sourses on Bruce Lee and HK movies.

Btw, I think that the (fully ?) uncut screening of "Big Boss" you are referring to is the Kung Fu Monthly event back in 1979, unless you mean a more private gathering which I do not know anything about.

that was the 1st UK release mate so a big deal back then..same with the HK legends releases they were the first ''official dvd'' uncut versions..now theres no big hoo ha about it

Oh, I didn't realise that one came out first. That being the case you'd think the 2 disc version would be the one still available and not the other one. Strange......

correct gungfu mate..internet can expose myths etc..all i can say is what i remember from all those yrs ago about BB..perhaps a certain fred weintraub..could shed some more light on the matter as i belive BL sent him an original print of the film after release

I also know who said that Fred Weintraub has a very early print of "Big Boss" - David Tadman. But the question is which print did he receive and where is it now...

i would think that it may well be the full version prior to HK censor/ studio cuts..but who knows ?

I totally agree with Chris. But it all boils down to your own preferences and what you find entertaining. Some would say it is their least favourite movie, while others are almost obsessed with it (especially with the mystery of "holly grail"-s of unseen Bruce Lee scenes like the "Saw in the Head", "Last visit to the bordello", "Burning chart, etc.).

My best advise is that if you have not seen it yet, you should see it - and then make up your own mind

Oh just lost my cool with a fellow who went on saying crap political hardline statements like the middle east is a _____hole of murderer's, scumbags, superstitious etc etc and USA shouldnt have stopped at Iraq and gone on to flatten Saudi Arabia and Iran etc etc. Put all of them down and come back home and then if they try to stir trouble again, go back and flatten them again!
Initially I thought he was kidding, to my stupidity I realised he was dead serious. And being born in a refugee family from genocide and all, I take things like these pretty much at heart. I cant sit down an watch such prejudiced and racists comments being freely said and NOT oppose it.
I have no regrets on what I told him (never abused him ONCE or called him names) Guess the mods deemed my statement of facts and experiences unfit for the boards. Fair enough...

Its great, it means I know till what limit the mods can digest what I state/post here... and also it means Ill be a great mod too someday
