GREAT shots Sean! I really love that Ep II Obi look... awesome work bro.

I got mine today and DOVE into it, I just wanted to weather him up so bad. The head is amazing, with the new skin tone I don't have to do another skin tone coat. All I had to do was add detail to the skin, tweak the hair and hairline, redo the eyes and add a bit to the lips and beard. It's great!

The armor got my usual treatment. :D

what an unbelievable transformation! the dude who sculpted this bust must be doing handstands... you are an absolute credit to his talent!

freaking amazing repaint!

Karaduin, I'll do it tonight.

Hmm Maulfan... the pics are strong in this one :bow looking forward to it!

I remember a pose off or walk off thread a while back that peeps posted a pic and then us freaks would try to match the pose. I think it was more of a 'which 12" manufacturer's body is better' challenge... still was good fun tho !

Well, here's the deal, I went to emulate the pose, doesn't work. The cartoon benefits from suspending reality and allows Obi-Wan to dynamically cross his arms in ways armor won't allow, the figure arms stop it. However, I will come up with a cool pose to shoot later inspired by that image, but the best pose like those photos that the figure will allow isn't flattering, so some creativity will be needed.

Dammit I thought it might be a tricky one! When I saw that the holo-comm forearm was the exclusive that image from the CW cartoon popped into my head. You're right though, it is exaggerated for the cartoon but something close must be possible. Just give it you're best shot man!

Well, the good General made his way up here today...
I feel kinda sheepish posting shots on the heels of the umpteenth re-post of DarkArtist's superb makeover ones, but here goes...

These are just right out of the box, no futzing yet. My first impressions: I can see what the fuss is about...he is a very striking figure and a great preview of the armored characters now on the horizon. That sculpt and the paint apps are superb.
I look forward to posing him and futzing a bit over the weekend.

Anybody who has this great warrior on the way won't be disappointed!

This one feels very war scene to me, nice work dude. Whatever those 2 wire things are in the background, it makes the shot look like Obi-Wan's come upon wreckage from a Republic vehicle and has been surprised by the Separatist army and has turned to take a defensive stance.

This is what I came up with so far.

I like that pose Sean.

Kenobi is trying to communicate with Rex but is in the defense of the oncoming battle droids.

I think of it more as Obi-Wan enjoying a momentary victory and communicating with Rex during the brief pause in action, Obi-Wan on the defense is coming ;)

Thanks, DA...again, your re-paint just sends this figure to amazing heights...he looks fantastic!

Thanks Sean! When you suggested something "battle-ravaged". I thought of the busted-up foundation of an old pump house near my house (that's rebar sticking up out of the shattered concrete)...that, with the late afternoon sun gave the scene a great feel...and I was really impressed with how great he looked right out of the box! I was itching to get outta work yesterday and snap a couple quick shots while I still had some sun.

Your shots are excellent as usual....really like the recent ones featuring Kenobi communicating with Rex, saber at the ready...very cool. My favorites among this series you've done are the ones with this amazing sculpt with his AOTC threads...man, I wish I was brave enough to try n' swap that head. I'll just wait until SS does their own version. Actually, that would make a fine Con exclusive...re-using this sculpt on a pro body with the AOTC jedi attire...Sideshow, are you listening? :)

Here's a few more shots of Kenobi in that same environment...

Man, this figure is fantastic! Can't wait to get some snow shots with him!

I cancelled my exclusive but just cracked and picked one up during the CSC sale (15% off everything!) These pics just looked too nice.

Broke down and ordered another one from Cornerstore comics and the True Type body, hands, feet and neck from Black Ops Toys to complete Episode 2 Obi-Wan. This figure is just too damn cool. Now I wonder what to do with the extra Obi- Clone body? Wish Anakin's head would fit the neck post.

Could be a con piece, but I think there are probably a good number of Obi-Wan purist fans that only want film figures and passed on this with hopes of AOTC garbs. I'm just an insane Obi-Wan fan :lol

As for your images, great stuff, I'm finding a lot of life to this series, between the sculpt's reaction to light and shadow and the scenes you're shooting him in, I get this vibe of Obi-Wan broken heartedly touring the scene, wondering what the war is really for, remembering better times, then being caught off guard and having to return to pure instinct and defend himself.
