Repaints never hurt, but the portrait on this figure, even the paint apps, is most impressive from the factory.

Yeah they are ok, but the eyes are again painted much to heavy (i.e. eyeliner) and the lips appear much too pursed. It is a better app than some previous figs there is no doubt.

It is just hard to compare to a one-of DA, etc masterpiece!

:clap

I would love to do an outside shot like your doing, but as of right now I can't because its really windy (windy enough I was thinking tornado warning on the way home :monkey2). Plus with Spook going on now I might miss something good, prob wont but who knows.

This is what I came up with so far.

V. nice MaulFan! - thanks for doing the request and you've done a good job of transposing a wacky, exagerrated cartoon pose into a realistic looking one. :clap

Trev, don't downplay your talent at all. You have so much, it truly is amazing. And you're constantly trying to improve what you do, you're not happy with the status quo and that's truly admirable. I love the sculpt you did on this; it's outstanding.

I hate you Trevor. You're talent makes me feel like the sculpting hack that I am. I think God gave you several helpings of sculpting talent, and jipped the rest of us.

In all seriousness, you are definitely in the elite circle, and I always look forward to seeing your work. I honestly can't say that there is anyone BETTER than you out there and while the skin texture is a neat thing, certainly not a detractor from your work.
I would especially look forward to some random sculpts of the missing Buffy and Angel characters.

I feel for Trev, it's the burden of being a full-time artist. No matter what kudos you get from your audience, you always end up fluffing it off because you feel or know you could do better if you did it again. No matter how happy you make your client, and it feels good doing that, there's always some little part of you that doesn't accept it and wants to do better. It's a testament to how good Trev is that despite the praise we all give him and all, he doesn't let it affect him as an artist and maintains that drive to keep looking forward and not find a comfort spot where things become "good enough". I love his passion and enthusiasm for his work.

Just got my reg. Clonobi.

My thoughts are short and simple.

Headsculpt = :rock

Armor = :rock

Robe = :rock

Brown under-suit= :D (i too wish the lines were sown, but it still looks great)

Articulation = :rock (my ankle are fine. My arms are fine. He even stand on his own without a stand)

Couldn't be happier.

Chase, you need to get one. :rock :devil :rock

These pics are great!
I think he did a repaint on that head, looks much better than the factory paint as well and really brings out the sculpt of it.

Those pics are good but I am not digging the repaint. Looks like he just washed the sculpt with brown.

Great pics, nice weathering, good repaint but...the robe/cape is looking a little too "dead bath towel" and is a bit distracting...it's just a bit much.
