Any particular reason, mate?
I've bought a few things from him. I've had trouble with his service though. One figure arrived with two of the same hands. No biggie, but he never replaced it, like he said he would. Got a replacement from the manufacturer.

Last item was for the Mark 3 Ironman. Had it on pre-order for almost a year. When they started showing up everywhere and I asked where mine was, he said end of April. That turned into the end of May, which in turn moved on to mid June. I had asked for a refund, but he assured me, this time, each time. I ended up with the Mark 2 Ironman, which I already have, so he ended up refunding me, but now I'm out $40 shipping the Mark 2 back, and still have no Mark 3 Ironman. I understand his lack of correspondence is due to the language barrier but I'm done with his hassles.

I think the paint job is really bland. The final product doesn't have that beaten metal look of the prototype. The green paint also looks to have been applied rather carelessly and they only used one shade of green. I already have this preordered and I'm hoping it won't be as bad in person.

I can't help but feel let down when I see how amazing it was....

Yes, paint job is a bit less interesting than the original proto...its not habitual for hot toys to have an average paint job..the tony face also looks to have lost a lot of details...still this is a 4 star figure. But less impressive than it could have been.

Couldn't agree more. There is a lot of talk on the Hong Kong boards about the noticeable drop in paint job recently....John Connor, the Spirit, and now the Mark I. Perhaps mass production of so many figures is taking its toll? Hope they fix the problem because the paint job on Dutch, the Predator, and the Godfather were amazing...why can't it be like that for a figure that was previewed almost a year ago?

p.s. Just look at his right foot....arghhh. What were they thinking? And the green.......horrible. Come on Hot Toys you know you can do better than that. Just because not as much people ordered this doesn't mean that you can rush the paint job like this.

Unfortunately I must agree with my fellows. The quality of the painting is worst than the prototype, which was really amazing.

If you look at the green parts it looks as if they didn't even try.

"Ahhh it is just too much work, let's just use one shade of green and paint the entire piece green."

Seriously...what is going on Hot Toys???? Don't bite off more than you can chew....less releases and better QC would be a start.

I think they applied fewer layers of paint, also lacks the care of attention and gradual change of the colors. They've been releasing alot of figures recently, might explained the loss in quality.

Do agree that the paint doesn't look as good as the prototype but this is easily fixed for those who can't bear the differences between the final product and the early pics.

I can say for certain that this will not be an easy fix for the majority of owners :monkey2

I dunno. For $170 I don't want to have to mess with the paint of the entire figure. Its one thing to rip a head off and arrange a repaint but its not really possible for a whole figure.

ah, so I'm not the only one who thinks that HT's been slipping off with the paint app? I saw the spirit in person and couldn't believe my eyes that this was a HT product. Looks like something DCD would produce on their own.

Can't really see the mark 1 paint job as I'm using my phone to browse, but this certaiy doesn't sound good :(

On one hand, I hope they don't pull this one back into the factory and re work it again, but on the other hand, I can't have my most wanted figure of 09 to be looking obsolete compared to the other HT fig on my shelf.

Anyone have a better pic of stark's head sculpt? I'm gonna have to see more pics for now.

OMG !!!!! Hot Toys has the Sideshow Curse now ??????

Fiasco ahead .....
