sorry to be a partypooper, but i was hoping the smiling jack would beat, or at least be as good as the eb's proto(couldnt care less for eb's final sculpt though). this is below that standard. it is much much better than the previous ht smiling sculpt, but a perfect jack sculpt it aint. even the smirk doesnt feel right.

imo you guys are much too distracted by the hat and bandana or the mustache to see through the face sculpt. already po-ed this, and i'm happy... enough, i guess. but i wish i was ecstatic.

I know these things are a matter of taste.... but we must be looking at a different figure.
The HT figure really puts the EB one to shame. Not even close to the same league.

Same, and I hope Alter Ego gets Superman in before Christmas too. I'll try to hold them until then if I can and open 'em up on Christmas day.

Thats what I was looking for. Enterbay's is a child's crayon drawing compared to Hot Toy's Mona Lisa.

I really loved the 1st smiling sculpt they showed with the exposed teeth, it was a totally different look to be able to choose between and the whole reason i was very much looking forward to this figure, now they have revised it to be a closed pouty lip grin/smile, just like enterbays version???!!!! DISAPPOINTED!

I love it. The expression is perfect for his salute pose! Definitely much better than EB; I mean come on, we get to have 2 expressions w/ a lot of accessories & a dio here versus 1 expression, some cheap lookin' accessories & a high price tag from EB. No doubt HT takes home the bacon. Hopefully, no issues (I hardly doubt) will arise on this figure.

I'm just assuming here that you didn't read the small paragraph that came with the pics that said how they went through numerous sculpts and this one was the one that was approved. Which means out of all the sculpts that HT was working on including the original smiling sculpt did not get approved by the licensor. If you want someone to blame, blame the Disney or Depp or whoever holds the license but you can't really blame HT b/c the licensor approved this one. Just sayin'

HT crushed this one... the new sculpt is unreal. I did have a soft spot for the goofy gold toothed head, but this is a definite upgrade.

Well the HT bottom right pic is pretty damn close and the eyes l think are bang on, the left pic at that angle looks a little off though. Anyway l think HT beat EB, l am actually surprised.

plus I think the licensor made a great choice of picking this expression.
