Wow, before I made the decision to keep my collection DC only, this guy was on my list. He won't be on my shelf, but my jaw was on the floor. That is astounding, and among HT's best work. Superman, Don Vito Corleone, 89 Batman and Joker, and now, Captain Jack. I am stunned by how awesome he is, and I'm certain he'll be the centerpiece of many collections. Congrats to all of you guys who've waited so long for this guy.

On a side note, do any of you think that they might tweak and tinker with the original smiling sculpt, and use it, or some altered, more accurate variation of it, for the Cannibal Jack figure? It seems to embody the cheeky, quirky Sparrow that was prevalent in that scene.

Sort of disappointed that the exposed gold teeth are gone.
The two sculpts now look very similar to each other.

Still an utterly amazing DX figure though!

I'm just assuming here that you didn't read the small paragraph that came with the pics that said how they went through numerous sculpts and this one was the one that was approved. Which means out of all the sculpts that HT was working on including the original smiling sculpt did not get approved by the licensor. If you want someone to blame, blame the Disney or Depp or whoever holds the license but you can't really blame HT b/c the licensor approved this one. Just sayin'

Skin tone is better on the Medi-Bay but, the HT sculpt and features wins out overall.

Np man. I too wish we'd get more info and I'm surprised that HT gave us that small bit of info with the release of these pics tbh.

But to some degree I think with more info comes even more complaints than just "where's my figure already"

This is a new high for Kojun. The likeness is just unbelievable! In a huge year for 1/6, this one might be Fig of the Year, no lie! Certainly on my short list of amazingly executed toys.

Pretty good effort by EB but HT's version is hands down better..absolutely amazing work there by HT.

I'm really thinking about ordering another one of these. I've never bought multiples of anything, but this is just as perfect as you can get.

Well they did, which is what we saw in the original smiling proto sculpt. It's the people approving the sculpts who preferred this one

I liked the smiling sculpt from the beginning...I thought it was well done on the proto, but it's even better IMO now.

that is a perfect face sculpt of jack(just ignore the body). that sculpt not only captured the likeness but also the character of jack. this ht's new sculpt everyone is praising of, to me, only captured 75% likeness n 60% of his manerism. the smirk seems awkward and forced onto the face. percentage is about the same for the serious face.

now, i'm not trying to be a contrarian just for the sake of it. i already got this fig po-ed, and dont regret it one bit. just dont think this is one of ht's best effort, sculpt wise.

You think the normal HT face is worse than EB? This comparison with the real Depp says otherwise.
