Re: Official Alien Prequel/Prometheus Discussion Thread

wouldn't a hybrid Jockey Alien be like 20ft tall though?

The Jockey we see in Alien turned out to just be a suit (which I think is ____ing stupid, can't believe they went the Independence day route). So we don't really know.

Hopefully the Jockey looks almost identical to the suit.. :(

Yes. There was even a scene in Alien (which was cut I think) that showed the remains.

I don't know where the pic came from specficly, but it's said to be a trading card or something. So it's real.

And it's not stupid. Because we have zero knowlage of this being.

Re: Official Alien Prequel/Prometheus Discussion Thread

I have the Alien trading cards! Now I'm gonna have to dig them out, because I can't tell jack crap from that image, and don't remember that particular photo in the least...

Re: Official Alien Prequel/Prometheus Discussion Thread

That card/image is useless. Anyone who can tell what's going on in that pos photo can probably also decipher all of Bane's dialogue from TDKR. :lol

Re: Official Alien Prequel/Prometheus Discussion Thread

It's pretty bad. But I think there was a blurb somewhere that tells what that is. So it's supposed to be a Jockey...thing....:lol

Re: Official Alien Prequel/Prometheus Discussion Thread

Er...whoops! It was supposed to be The Jockey it'self. So never ze mind. Move along. :D

Re: Official Alien Prequel/Prometheus Discussion Thread

Several months ago someone spotted the original, Giger-designed Alien suit(s) on set...I guess they could have just mistook it for somthing else...Jockey-bursted Xenos perhaps, which I also remember reading were going to for sure be at the end of the movie..

Seems like a lot has changed since those earlier articles I read though, so who knows..

There are no "Xenos". :exactly::lol

Never existed never will.

Re: Official Alien Prequel/Prometheus Discussion Thread

I think it was just a generic name that was given, that for some reason stuck.

Unfortuantly, it's what the Alien is called. Pretty much almost officially. I mean, I call it Alien still.

Thankfully, no one officially calls the Predator a Yautja. Or any of that stupid ass retarded bull____.

I think it might be us in the suit. Explains the giant human face on that planet they arrive on..

Re: Official Alien Prequel/Prometheus Discussion Thread

I wish I could get super high for Prometheus, and have a predictable high, not some unforeseen crazy effed up shroom trip...

I don't think you understood.
For me, it will have to be pretty damn amazing to beat the Jockey design we see in Alien. I don't think it will. I don't like the whole suit idea either because it reminds me of Independence Day, and I'm sure it's been used other times as well.

I really just think the design of the Jockey in Alien was incredible, and don't want to see it changed.

Definition of Alien: A hypothetical or fictional being from another world

Xenomorph: The term Xenomorph is derived from the greek words xeno ("stranger", "alien", sometimes "foreigner") and morphe ("form", "shape").

So, an Alien is a fictional being from another world.. And the word Xenomorph means "foreigner/stranger-form/shape".

If you can't call it a Xenomorph, you can't call it an Alien. Can't call Predator a Predator either then.

No one is arguing that it's an official, scientific name for them..but it's what most people call them, and it's no different than any of the other names used for them.

So, I shall continue to call the Xenomorphs, Xenomorphs. As I have since I was born.

I think it might be us in the suit. Explains the giant human face on that planet they arrive on..
I highly doubt it, and to be honest I really hope that's not the case.

In the leaked "fake" script, it was said that Jockeys created us. That could explain the Human face in the ship/structure. And a picture was released that showed a dead/wounded creature that resembles a miniature Jockey, but with flesh.
And since we know the Alien Jockey was a suit, it would make sense for the actual creature to be a bit smaller..yet maintain the same overall shapes, which the one in the picture did. Even had the rib-like things on the chest if I remember correctly.

Re: Official Alien Prequel/Prometheus Discussion Thread

That's not what an Alien is....

Alien-

Alien (law), a non-citizen inhabitant of a country

Extraterrestrial life, defined as life that does not originate from Earth

List of alleged alien beings (ufology)

Any introduced species, a species living outside its native distributional range

Re: Official Alien Prequel/Prometheus Discussion Thread

Are you? You gave a very strange defination of what an Alien is.

It's not a fictional being, or hypothetical. Alien means more then outer space ____.

Re: Official Alien Prequel/Prometheus Discussion Thread

C'mon man, you're supposed to be a big Alien universe fan. It's not some "generic" random name, it was IN Aliens. Gormon calls the creatures that during his little mission briefing with the Marines.

Completely different than that Predator/Yautja crap that was fan-made/conceived.
