It does look too narrow...the Medi Vader looks like the helmet is as wide or wider than the SSC Vader

The Medi helmet is a bout 1/8 inch less wide than Sideshow's.

This is a great shot for height comparison, you've got Tarkin, Leia an Vader standing full upright.

Like I said, Vader's body seems to end up 1/4 inch taller than other figures in relation, and the way his head's attached to allow articulation may make the top of his head seem a bit higher too. It may look more dramatic in some photos, but I don't think it's too much of a difference.

I remembered I had this pic. To me the Sideshow figure resembles this quite well. This picture was taken during the photoshoot of the original costume for the "Chronicles" book but wasn't used. Its possible that the Chronicles book was used for reference, I'd have used it if it were me , there are some awesome pictures in there !

Correct Paul. There's a number of plublicity shots of Vader for ANH that the figure quite closely matches. Why Vader looked so different, maybe it was some random guy in the suit and not Prowse, who knows, but the screen Vader look and the promo shots don't match in terms of where things line up and all.

Awesome photos Maul, I'm late to the game but I do have this on order with the Ex version, just read both Vaders threads front to back, just being trying to catch a Dutch Ex. There's a lot going on right now in the 1/6 land

And on the subject of domes, it is definately too short and too narrow but that seems to be the only nit on this one -- good job SS.

I think he's still in production and not on the water yet - so it will probably be about 3-4 weeks still.

Strangely I got a notice today that they are merging my Vader and Stormtrooper Commander & Hot Toys Truetype for combined shipping..... so Vader may be sooner than that (and I'm happy to wait 4 weeks for the commander otherwise I'd probably have to cancel).

Due to a VERY SCARY accident, that thankfully turned out fine in the end, I discovered how Vader's head is pieced together.

As I surmised, it's 3 pieces, the dome unit all being one, the mask being two halves with a peg in the dome going into the top of the mask, with a few glue spots scattered throughout. Glue can't be too strong, he just took a small fall backwards and it popped off, no breakage or scratches or anything, my heart almost dropped as I watched him fall, and his fall wasn't because of body issues with him, I was setting up a photo and my Stormtrooper was the domino to start it all.

And here's how the chest box is strapped to him in back. The clipped piece wraps around him and the shoulder straps just hook onto that part with loops.
