Do they provide the appearance of having that dark red color or is it straight black?

If not, then a very thin layer of Tamiya clear red tint may be in order.

They are painted with the tint.

Accurracies and all that put aside, the sheer production quality on this figure is amazing, I'd say this thing could rival a Premium Format in the overall look, the finish on the helmet is just amazing, the detailing, the quality of everything is just really well made. Definitely the best made Sideshow figure I own.

Hey Sean I have a couple more requests:

1) Can you get a clear pic of how the chest piece is attached.

2) Can you also get a clear pic of how the head is attached.

Hopefully it is possible to at least get an idea without having to dissemble Vader, since I know you don't want to go there. :lol

I can take a shot of the chest box harness for you, the heat attachment, it's pretty hard to see, I can barely see up enough but I can tell there's a neck running up into the mask, and my guess is, a ball joint at the end like the Stormtroopers. I can feel 2 joints in motion on the head, I can actually slide the head to the side a bit. The only limit on head articulation is the front collar of the mask for forward motion.

Thank you, and I'm sure it got lost in the mix, it's not a great picture, just shows the red is there and size comparison.

I've said a few times, the red is easily seen in hand, but photos tend to lose it, at least mine because I don't do direct lighting on the face like you get from house lights.

Ummmm...Sean, can we all take a turn seeing your Vader? :monkey3 You can mail it to me, I'll mail it to Pix on so on until we get ours??? :monkey3:monkey3:monkey3 :lol Seriously, thank you so much for answering all our questions and picture requests. You sir, rock!

That picture is actually my desktop wall paper right now. :lol

Well like I said a few posts above, the sheer quality looking at this thing is amazing, I feel more like I'm looking at a high end statue than a figure.

Honestly, this isn't to stir a debate and it's not anti-Medicom propoganda, this figure truly makes the Medicom look like a toy. The realism to the finishes on the helmet, the rigidness of the edges on the mask (something people said of SS Stormies vs. Medi), the look of the colors used on the lights etc. are very realistic on the SSC, Medi's got neon green buttons on his belt, it's just a superb looking figure.

Even if it's not 100% perfect, I say Sideshow has set the new bar for mass produced Vader's to reach.

Would it be possible to see this vader onside with the 78 Vader, since it would be two larger ANH incarnations.

Amazing figure though. I'm glad I've still got my exclusive, was wavering a bit over it.

Oh one more :)o) could we see Vader's box side by side with Maul's box?

Sorry, I got rid of all my SSC figure boxes long ago, with all the large scale items I have from them which need the protection, I had to give up the figure boxes, I'd have like 50 by now if I'd kept them :lol Vader's the only box I'll be keeping because it's part of this special occassion.

Sadly, the 1995 Kenner is the oldest I have, I wish I had the Vintage one, saw a few times at conventions but always missing the cape and I wasn't paying what the dealers wanted without all the gear.

I'm not sure if you've taken a shot like this yet Sean, would you be able to take a shot of Vader standing with cinnamon buns Leia please? :)

That's allright. I still look forward to every pic you put out.

I can see the price of the Medicom dropping due to this. While they are different versions, and still good, the fact SS will put out other Vaders like this is just insane.

Sure thing, I am by no means done :lol Just pacing, yesterday felt like a marthon, in a good way, today I want to make it more a brisk jog :lol

For retail price, Sideshow's easily feels and looks like a figure of what it costs, hell, it could easily be a $150 like Hot Toys figures, it's that good.

Having this figure in hand, and taking photos, I really, really hope we see Tarkin before the end of 2009, Stormies, Praji, the look nice, but Tarkin would really add to the mix more than the others do.
