Re: <> Captain America 2 (Golden Age Version) - OMG Photo Review <>

I don't mind the HS but it does demand a more action oriented pose to make it look right. Looking at it at an up angle in a static museum pose is not going to be a good look, so if that's how you like to see your figures this one probably isn't a good fit.

Re: <> Captain America 2 (Golden Age Version) - OMG Photo Review <>

I'm going to pose mine facing the back of the shelf, with the shield down his back, kind of like a lonesome hero shot and bucky in the same pose across from him. That should take care of the look.

Re: <> Captain America 2 (Golden Age Version) - OMG Photo Review <>

This is Captain Freaking America as he appeared in the incredible finale of THE WINTER SOLDIER. This is not a figure you pass on unless you're the most casual of Cap/TWS fans. Yeah right all of you saying, "I'm cancelling my waitlist." As if it was going to convert. :lol The headsculpt is definitely a little specific and simply requires that you pose him with his head slightly looking down or in a bit of an action pose. Neutral pose with both hands limply at his sides obviously isn't very flattering or the intended look for this particular figure. I'm still most excited for Stealth Cap but this guy looks awesome and I wouldn't dream of cancelling this soon to be $600+ figure.

Finally someone can see it!!!
Great post!!!!

Super job with this one

Whoever says the arms are puffy just look at the scrawny avengers cap arms. Which is more Cap? Definitely this one!

That one is a good pic. You are right, the head just cannot be facing, needs tilted.

How can you have a Falcon or WS figure without this guy?

Even if I truly hated the headsculpt all I'd do is purchase a second Civie Steve sculpt so I could still display him as he appeared during his "The price of freedom is high, but its one I'm willing to pay" speech.

There's no chance in hell I'm throwing the baby out with the bathwater on this one, especially since the bathwater isn't so bad in the first place.

Shhhhh. Don't discourage cancelations! :lol

IMO the problem with that is that the eyes of the figure were not designed for a head tilted down pose, unless it's a tilted down pose where the figure is actually looking at something down below.

Even if I'm a hardcore fan of Cap I would cancel not giving a damn if the figure would have a high value being an exclusive. I did that with TF Begins Suit Batman and I'm a harcore Bat-fan. If I'm not happy with what I see I won't force it in my shelf just because I'm a fan and/or it would make me a few hundred bucks richer someday.

I agree. To be more specific when I am saying tilt I am saying more left to right because of the exact reason you are pointing out. There is a really great blogger pic of him looking up and away which could be a compromise for the angle with the eyes set upwards.

Looks pretty good when compared to the proto so many will be happy. I prefer the original myself though.

I just noticed he's wearing the leather shoulder harness from the Stealth Suit. Think I might try to pick up an extra one for that look.

Re: <> Captain America 2 (Golden Age Version) - OMG Photo Review <>

The headsculpt is a miss for me, and why isn't anyone talking about how oversized his uniform is up top?
There's got to be a way to get better articulation without dressing him in 1/5 scale clothing.... I'll stick with
My first avenger version and save my cash for more Iron Men...lol
