If it doesn't work in Windows 7 then you might be able to run it virtually---Windows 7 has an option to basically run XP as a virtual machine, and then you can try to run the game:
https://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/install-and-use-windows-xp-mode-in-windows-7

You need the right version of Windows 7 though.

I have Premium, I think. One or two steps down from the biggest one they have.

I'll take a look at that. I thought of using DOS Box as a last resort, but that's always been sluggish for me.

I'd throw another vote for the Steelseries Syberia v2. I have them and really enjoy them. Light and comfy, retractable mic, 'cheap'...
and they come in 'not-USB' version which I prefer because I plug them straight into my Logitech G51 volume control console.
I actually wish the Diablo edition they made wasn't USB because I would have jumped all over that.

Well here's the thing. Vista was the first OS I actually bought. I bought it because I was building a new rig and figured I'd step up and get en OEM version.
A few months later they announced 7  and I'm still with the same rig so I didn't really feel like updating.
so now that it's around time to upgrade I'm going to take the opportunity to format and install 7.

Also. Screw 8.
That is the pair I bought and they look sick! I do wish they were the non usb just for the fact that I would like to hear them through my preamp. Oh well they are still good headphones thats forsure.

I'm all about high performance laptops.
I do editing, vfx work and color grading so mobility and power is exactly what I need. I have a Dell precision m6700. It is a beast! It has a 4gb nvidia quadro k4000m gpu which is specifically designed for pro applications. That doesn't stop me from playing battlefield 3 with everything on ultra! It's so smooth and looks incredible. What is your battery life like on the Sony? Also which ssd does it have?

Honestly I have no idea who made the SSD it came with. Sony's site says 4 hours but I tested it and I got about 6 hours out of it.

Virtual XP didn't work, and DOSBox didn't like it either.

Thankfully, they have a web-based version. It's $15 a year, which is fine with me since I played the shareware version for about a decade, so they can now have some more of my money.

So some Nvidia leaks supposedly happened, GTX 700 series in May.
780 will be the rumored "Titan LE" on GK110 with 5GB of VRM, a 30% performance over the 680... with the other GPU's still running off of GK104 770 is a 680, 760 is a 670.

And a Titan II is happening.

I kind of hope it's true because I want to upgrade my ATi 5850.

What's up with RAM prices nowadays?? They aren't any lower than they were back in '09 when I built my current box. Used to be that RAM was a cheap upgrade.

Pretty sure they are lower, I got 32GB for my PC for super cheap

They are definitely cheaper but usually I find the most popular RAM type at the time is the cheapest as different modules are made the older types become more expensive.

Ahh yes, that's it.

I was using DDR2 sticks and DDR3 is significantly less expensive. So help a novice DIY guy out. If my mobo has these specs

Memory

Number of Memory Slots
4×240pin

Memory Standard
DDR2 1366+/1066

Maximum Memory Supported
16GB

Channel Supported
Dual Channel

I can use DDR3 memory, something like this, correct?? Or is there something better I should upgrade to?
