I rather spend 1.5 times for 1 computer than go through 3 in a five year period. :lol

Who does that? If anything, Mac users go through more computers, so they can keep up with the 'lastest and greatest'.

(It's funny how these discussions make people generalize, and I'm guilty of it too :lol)

Before I got my iMac over 2 years ago I literally had 3 PC's break down on me. You name it, it happened. After spending $100's on repair people after the 3rd one went I bought a Mac. I never wanted to get one and to be honest made fun of Mac users for years saying the usual shat that I read on here.

I've never been more happy to be wrong. :yess: I won't buy anything else if I ever do decide to upgrade. Right now my 2 and a half year old iMac is perfect for me. It also runs just like the day I bought it with no repairs or maintenance.

Were the issues physical or software related? I just can't see why you would need to replace computers like that.

This thread is retarded.

A little of both. To be honest I wasn't savvy enough to be able to fix anything on my own (something I haven't had to do with my Mac). The third one just flat out overheated. When the tech guy told me what needed to be replaced and then showed me the partially melted parts I ended it there.

I hope you all don't mind my throwing in a question that is off-topic. But I really don't see the need to start an entire thread just for this.

What is currently the fastest CPU for a laptop? I did some looking around...but the only info I can find is a year or two old and I am presuming that there have been improvements since then.

After I get my answer I will allow you all to go back to the PC/Mac arguing.:)

The poll means nothing--it only counts the 178 people that cared enough to vote. But there's 13,000 members

Exactly but don't fail to recoginze the pattern this poll has shown. Plus how many of those 13,000 members are even around? Dave probably banned most of them. :rotfl

Mac users are more insecure with their choice--they spend so much on their computers they don't want people to think they made a bad choice--so they would be more likely to vote on this poll

I actually believe non Mac users are more insecure. You can see it everytime someone makes comments (usually insults) towards Mac users.

I really don't give a damn. I picked what works for me and I'm happy with it. :rock
