With 2 and 3, I did enjoy the content, I agree it felt bloated, but I liked the overall idea of everything, and loved the way it all looked, characters, costumes, ships, locales, but the execution of it was just too over the top, that was my real problem. Not the length or story, I followed that just fine, but could definately see how it could feel long on subsequent viewings.

Hey Madden, if they do a Blackbeard PF from the movie, are you gonna get it to go with your historic Blackbeard PF?

I agree with this.

DMC worked to me. It had a good beginning, ehh middle, and great ending.

AWE had a ehh....all the way through until the end. I love that scene/.

Love the score but ____ these remixes!

I wish more composers and studios would follow in the footsteps of Howard Shore.

DL the score from ITunes and it's really good. Listened to it as I fell asleep last night. Glad I bought it to go with the others.

I love hearing the variations on the old themes, like the Mermaid music is a dark variation of the vocal piece used during the voyage to the land of the dead in AWE.

I do hate that most score soundtracks are really just the composers putting out albums of their work almost ignoring that there's a movie tied to it. That's why you get character theme tracks that have much more than you ever hear in the movie and such. Don't get me wrong, I like those too, it'd be great to have that as a supplimental disc to an album that's every note from beginning to end. Some of my favorite scores I have are because they have all of the music. The Indy scores are almost complete, I have the full Phantom Menace score, I have a couple others that are nearly complete, but most, especially the Pirates and pretty much and Zimmer album, are small samplings and often missing the best stuff.

I really like Mutiny, Palm Tree Escape, Jack Sparrow, On Stranger Tides and the end credits most. Angelica I'm iffy on the way it starts, it's a bit annoying until it builds up.

I find this part interesting:

I haven’t talked much about Johnny Depp, despite the fact that he’s in almost every frame of the picture. That’s simply because even Depp seems exhausted by Jack Sparrow now, and his performance has no heart. This is a payday for Depp, and you can tell he’s thinking less about what’s going around him and more about where he’s going to spend all his Pirates booty.

You know he loves the character, he absolutely loves it, I find it difficult to believe that it plays on screen this way. I never put much stock into CHUD but this stuck out hard.

I can't really blame that one AP reviewer for not remembering the fate of Will & Elizabeth at the end of AT WORLD'S END. Because it's kinda hard to sit through that slog of an over-bloated film without falling asleep. :lol

Also, those characters were just grating by the third film. Awful. Ditching them instantly made me more interested in ON STRANGER TIDES than I would have been had they returned.

Chud is crud!

I totally believe that the last thing Depp is thinking about when doing these films is the big pay day he'll have.

Yeah, I can't imagine him going to that little girl's school all dressed up any everything if he was tired of the character.

Everything I've seen in the trailers and clips seems like the same old Jack to me.

What are you guys talking about? CHUD hasn't even posted their review yet. That bit is from the BadAssDigest review.

BTW, I'm in line at the ATL screening right now. Starts in about 30 mins.

Written by Devin Faraci right? Made the logical leap to CHUD given he is an editor over there. Either way I find it difficult to believe that a man who surprised the crowd as well as promoters at D23 dressed as Jack and then to a little girl's school and a hospital in the same would be acting meh on screen as Jack is all.
