I can tell you it comes with a dust jacket and has some very good cover art on the front and back....I'm pretty sure this is Blackbeard's ship and you can see several people already hung on the top sails....
It's just a good barometer of how a film is critically received. Nothing more, nothing less. I just find it interesting to compare the data sometimes.

I thinks 2 and 3 have issues but I still like the whole series and expect I'll really like this one.
Guess, I don't care enough about RT to ever go check out what movies are getting there.
PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES is the awe-deadening nadir of studio tentpole filmmaking, a soulless reconstitution of marketable elements in search of box office plunder. As a perversely unsatisfying moviegoing experience, it calls to mind BATMAN AND ROBIN - though to be fair to Joel Schumacher's franchise-killing debacle, PIRATES 4 lacks the conviction to be that memorably tacky.
I gave up on them when they thought A-Team was a crap movie but the New Karate Kid film was wonderful.
I agree. There were parts of 2 & 3 that I really hated but also parts I really liked and overall I liked all 3 of them so I'm sure this one will be fine as well. I'm not expecting Gone with the Wind here I'm just expecing a fun movie.
It sounds like you and a lot of reviewers look at pirates like Indy, first was lightning in a bottle and then progressing worse with each sequel.

The only thing I can say I hated about 3 is the whole ship in the desert with the crabs scenes. That was dumb.
I still love and own them all though.
Just saw the film - not as good as number one but I enjoyed it a lot better than 2 and 3 - much easier to follow. Barbossa steals it, he's deffo the best part.
Wow...to say a film is Schumachian is a definite low-blow....
Jack, more than ever, is now front and center, the focal point of every scene, and the result is that he's become less of a jester and more of a colorless expository hero. He ticks off the story for us, point by point, instead of standing to the side lobbing little verbal bombs at it. Depp's delivery is still amusingly sozzled, but the performance has lost any trace of surprise or merry deranged zing. The more Jack says, the less funny he is.
