I need to go get this tomorrow at BB. $20 isn't too bad for the blu ray.

Does the Target version include all the BB stuff but then also have additional material? Or does each have their own set of unique features as usual?

As far as I could find, only thing BB has that othet stores don’t is steelbook, Target has bonus material, BUT, it’s only accessible on a Disney site through a browser, still cool but a little disappointing, when OST came out, BB had a full extra disc of exclusive material. I feel bonus features are fading, I miss the days of longer bonus than the movie.

Yeah, the Lord of the Rings trilogy set extras are so dense I could literally spend days navigating their extras. I love that stuff -- immersive world.

I guess I'm stuck waiting for 3D Pirates 5 unless I bother buying the one on ebay. I really want to see this again but I'd prefer to see it in 3D this time (and I want my BB points :lol).

Not just bonus features but companies want to get rid of disks period.

Which I dislike, I get most people are content with digital, but I haven’t seen a legitimate digital release that has the picture quality of a BR disc, close, but I want the best.

I do find it interesting that the 4K disc is movie only.

Watched this on Blu-ray last night. Everything held up well, except for one part.

I feel that the final battle where Barbossa and Salazar are killed off is a little forced/rushed.

Still, it amazes me how much better this is than the previous two Pirates films.

I love the Pirates movies and even though Stranger Tides was my least favourite of the four, I tended to watch this the most to get my Pirates hit!! The reason was I did not want to watch the “origin” movie (1st) and I did not have time to commit to 2 & 3 (which is one story). I think DMTNT will now knock ST off and be the movie to watch when I need my Pirates hit!!

Bottom line its repeat viewing that make these movies fun and lovable!! You cannot watch only once and have a opinion it is unfair to the movie and the persons that created it!! That’s why I do not favour reviewers who claim that only the first is good and the rest is ****……not true if your a Pirates fan like me!!!

I enjoy every single one of the Pirates movies, just some more than others. Even the "boring" parts of OST I enjoy.

What I really loved about DMTNT is that it was such a nostalgic treat for longtime PotC fans. When I first saw it in the theatre, I felt like I was back in time watching the original again. :yess:

Yeah, Barbossa’s sacrifice still feels forced to me, I’ve come to really love the whole movie. I accept the depiction of Jack the way they went, and all of it works great but for Barbossa’s end, even something as simple as Salazaar getting a hand on her and being about to throw her off would have made it feel necessary, but when he falls, Salazaar is still like 20 feet away, they could have just started climbing again.

I still stand by the notion though, as enjoyable as this movie is, it isn’t satisfying to me as a finale to the franchise, to me it’s just a solid entry in a body of fun stories and adventures. It comes off like, well, if we never make another, this kinda wraps it up, but not so much we can’t, and I’d actually like the final film to be planned to be the last and really give a solid sendoff.

Curious if anyone caught on that in the flashback sequence the man standing behind Jack might be Barbossa? If not why the same hat with feather, belt across the chest, jacket style and height!!! IMG_0424.jpg

Not a fan of the POTC movies, but enjoyed this one, just wish Javiar Bardem had more time. So, out of 5 movies, I thought 2 were pretty good, this one being the best.

Alexander Scheer is credited as playing Young Teague. There is no credit for a young Barbossa, so I think that puts the Teague vs Barbossa argument to rest. Not sure why they didn't make who it was more clear in the film as either would have made sense, Barbossa maybe even more so.

That's for the research and answer. I had not thought of Teague originally when I posted. Although the outfit does make it clear it's Jack's dad it would have been more suitable if it was Barbossa
