Man Davy looks small.

I bought Cannibal Jack but somehow UPS routed him from being delivered today in Brentwood to San Francisco (45 miles the wrong way) so go figure. Reset to be delivered Monday.

It's an interesting trend with Hot Toys. When they do these out of the norm type figures, they end up on the smaller side, this happend with both Batmans in the TDK line, they're a bit shorter than Joker and it seems strange. The rubber suited and special body figures end up shorter and I don't get it, as far as I know they're on a TrueType exactly like the rest.

Anyway, regarding Davy, is he shorter than the other men in the line, yes, but I'll tell ya, the figure is SO damn cool you don't care when you have him in your hands. Probably my favorite in the line, even though I'm a Jack Sparrow nut, there's just something awesome about Davy, I find myself in awe almost anytime I look at him.

Medicom Jack Sparrow. I took the shot for a different thread to show my entire high end POTC collection, which is all Hot Toys but for the one Medicom figure.

Yup, above all else. Then alternate Will and Elizabeth would be welcome, and I'd like Jack revisited just for another head or two and hopefully a correct colored coat.

Davy really isnt that small. his legs are just spread too wide in that pic. here's mine next to jack. no modifications. but jack isn't wearing his hat.

8) Are there any plans to release additional Pirates of the Caribbean figures? Collectors want a Barbossa 1:6 scale figure from Hot Toys…

There we have it. Figured as much. Sucks though. Barbossa is near impossible to bash -- that vest and coat alone can't be recreated without a fully custom job, let alone a sculpt.

Glad I got my custom stuff together for the DMC Will and Eliz at least. Still waiting on the bodies though.

Just got to keep the faith. I have every confidence IF Hot Toys makes figures for POTC 4, Barbossa will be done then. They know there's interest, but they think by way of money and probably consider POTC a poor investment to build on right now so they're going after sure things like Predator and currently out there properties like Iron Man and TDK. When there's another Pirate buzz, if they still have or regain the license, they'll make Barbossa, be a great way to get people back to thinking of getting pirates from them and lets them get a figure out before the new movie because they'll probably have to wait until after the movie to ship a movie-based figure.

I wonder if Medicom having a DMC license caused issues. They were really late to the game with their AWE offering. The first 3 figures were shipped, if I remember right, in the fall after the movie came out, so already interest is fading, by the time the DVD hit, it was out a bit before the last 3 shipped. I think TDK and Iron Man show lesson learned. I think POTC taught them ^^^^, we blew it with our releases and they learned to strike while the movie's hot. That's why I'm keeping faith they'll be all over POTC 4.

I don't think there was any licensing issues, they just don't do very large lines, like TDK line. And Cannibal Jack was from DMC so that wasn't an issue.

I am too. Davy is the best!

I never expected HT to do a DMC Will or Eliz. I hoped like all of us, but it was pretty obvious they went for the whole Asian aspect in AWE for Eliz and of course Sao. That's why I decided early on to do the DMC customs for myself. Never counted on the Swann body/head to be so hard to find.

Anyway, still a good run with that Cannibal Sparrow and Davy being absolute highlights.

I still hope to figure out a way to do a Barbossa custom at some point. There's Sovereign's old sculpt and that 1/6th bust out there for sculpt possibilities. It's the jacket and vest that will be the crucial and difficult items to find. But fortunately it looks like we're at last getting some tailors on SSF so the possibilities open up considerably.

Hopefully a few guys here would want a custom Barbossa if one presents itself as a possibility. That's definitely something I'm gonna try to wraggle together in 2009. Not waiting for Pirates 4 in 2011 or so.
