I scored the perfect Jack combination in an auction off Ebay. the smiling head on the original outfit on a narrow shoulder body! I know many of you are advocates for the slim but personally I don't think it looks good at all with that body, Anyway can't wait for my Jack!!

Congrats man, it's a great combo. I'm still looking for a Jack 12" fig, ordered the PF, but I still want a Hot Toys Jack at some point too. I'm very tempted to hold off until Pirates 4 or a DX, whichever comes first.

I figured a few fellow freaks would have been in the hunt! If you still are looking this place supposedly has the original for the price that i got mine for, a little more... but of course he does not have the cannibal head. It was my back up plan... it's a steep price so yeah it may be good to wait for a POTC4 assuming they still have or get the rights. Its always a gamble with these things...

Still not totally accurrate, but how I wish the HT figure shipped with the prototype coat, that was one case of HT's proto-produciton figure dropping in quality. Of course with the body swap, like the coat they did use, it probably would have been stitched too big to go on smaller bodies and look right and I'd still be using the Medi coat. With all their advances since then, I really hope if they do another Sparrow they finally get it right. Coat was way off, the shirt is a bit too oversized even for the body it comes on, and the baldric is too small.

This is my HT Jack on the Slim TT wearing the Medi jacket, the Medi jacket won't fit on larger TT bodies, it's quite form fitting, as it should be, on the Slim.

It's a much much improved overall bash... The coat helps a lot and the slim looks not so bad here but it could be because the coat hides the bagginess of his shirt. but his neck looks quite a bit too long. i feel this way about all the slim TT necks in general. that's why i've always used a regular TT neck adapter when i used a slim like I did on my Luke Skywalker. I did it with my Lando too. Before that he looked like a giraffe like I'm seeing with Jack. Te shorter neck helped lessen Lukes height too and im sure it will with jack so thats another plus!

I got some goamon slim tt from ebay i forgot about came yesterday, its better for jack as it has darker skin anyway.. i'll have to see which i prefer that or narrow TT.

That's not the Slim neck though, it's the neck that came with the HT Jacks on the slim, the slim ones are longer but also go deeper in the heads that come with it.

As for the baggy shirt, I think it's too baggy for any body, way too much material on the sleeve and torso, it's one area I hope future Jack figures really improve upon.

Of the two, Medi's jacket is the better, the tailoring is more accurate, the color is closer to accurrate. They're both off, but the HT one really missed the mark, chocolate brown and the cut isn't even quite right. After the v1-DX Joker coat upgrades, I'm hoping for the same with a new Sparrow.

I have to be honest I was a bit skeptical about what I'd think of this figure when I ordered it. Nitpicks gallore in this thread. Something about the smiling sculpt being off or not capturing the character. This head has got to be one of the nicest I've ever seen. In both likeness and sculpt. it looks REAL.. better than Kojuns by a mile I think.

The outfit is INSANE. The level of detail, the weathering, the stains...

I do agree now he looks better on the slim but still has too long a neck even with his real neck. The seller said he built it on a narrow shoulder but it's actually a pro. The pro looked nice, but being a pro it was a floppy cheap peice of crap. The Goamon narrow i got works perfect, skin tone is almost perfect too for where his chest peaks out.

But this figure is just SO good, Not sure where a DX would benefit it other than I'd love to see tattooed forearms. I'm not pretending to be an expert so maybe I don't care if the color of the coat is accurate since it looks great to me, nice material and tailored nice even on the slim tt. I like this so much especially since it's a few years old, standing next to the Blade I just got, Blade can't hold a candle to him. This is easiest one of the best in my collection.

One question though... what the HELL is up with his pants?? I've seen G thugs on the Manhattan subway who's pants hang higher and fit better than these. Why is the waist so big? any way to fix it?

My solution with the pants is just to wrap his sash really tight around the waistline. I don't find the extra room a problem so much as how low the waist line is, makes it semi challenging to keep them up in place with any significant ammount of posing in the legs.

It's not a terrible figure by any means, but I think if you're really into Jack and getting a figure to have all the right things for the look, then the flaws become more apparent and annoying.

You pretty much answered yourself, because he's popular there, and while HT sells a lot, they definitely cater and care more for their domestic customers than foreign.

As for not doing Barbossa, it seems strange, but they were so slow with POTC, it was a year after the movie by the time half the figures were shipping. Had they taken a TDK or Iron Man approach of bombarding the market with figures around film release, we may have seen more. At least POTC 4 gives us a fighting chance and HT did make Davy Jones, Barboss and no Jones would have been more tolerable than Jones and no Barbossa, but I do really like Davy's look and the figure is awesome.

Me too. I love Barbossa. He's probably my favorite character from the films. I would have liked a Norrington too, but I know he's not popular enough to warrant a figure.

Yeah he rocks. More of a pirate than Jack. I'm glad he's coming back. Is it a for sure thing he is?? I've been reading Blackbeard is the new villian. That should be a cool figure right???
