Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

4 me both figures will have huge impacts on my shelf because of the way each role was handled. When I look at them I don't think I'll have an issue when looking at them feeling the way they came out on screen.

Cheers to that, my friend.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

Sorry for the cell phone picture, but here is the giant Jack Sparrow Cosbaby. It's HUGE and very heavy (and more than a little top-heavy). It's also a little scary. :lol There is more detail on the big figure than on the little one and in general it seems more polished.

I think Davy was handled as well as they could and I'll be happy to have him. And I hope that this line makes it long enough that we also get Barbossa as he is the only one left I really want a figure of.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

Apparently Will Turner ships next week, so a new announcement will be in order. Barbossaaaaaaaaa, where are you?

"That's interesting." That'd be cool, but still a bit of a ways away for me I'd guess as Sideshow hasn't mailed any notices or put him in the 30 day list.

Dang that picture is tempting me to get one. He looks great.

Just took these pix. I thought they came out nice and really captured the excellent likeness in the sculpt.

icruise, what do you think about the little cosbabies? I'm thinking about getting the Mickey Mouse ones, are they worth the money?

I think they're great. I don't have any of the Disney ones, but I do have the POTC and AVP ones, and aside from the fact that they are top-heavy and sometimes a little fragile (in the sense that they can sometimes come apart, although not permanently) they are very well done. They're certainly worth the money, in my opinion.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

Cool, I think I just might get those Disney ones. What ways do they come apart? And how do you put them back together? Thanks for the input.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

Well, some of my AVP ones were in pieces when I took them out of the box. The head had popped off one or two and in one case the figure had come apart at the waist and needed to be glued back together. Generally they just fit back together though so it's not a big deal.

I mentioned 'Turner shipping next week' because that is what Hot Toys is telling us. Then I guess it's a matter of how Hot Toys handles distribution. At least Turner will be on its way soon if they keep to their usual form.

I don't know what the debacle is with how they are distributing the Pred-Alien and Wolf. That is a mess. Sporadic shipments, it's all over the place. I hope that doesn't happen on a regular basis.

Great pics King. :rock

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

I got the HT Newsletter that talked about Will shipping next week but the interesting thing is that there was no mention of Cannibal Jack. Sideshow won't be getting their for a while I think at least thats the way it usually works with the imports but I wonder what is the hold up with Jack.....

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

I am currently in Hong Kong on a working trip and Cannibal Sparrow is already in the shops here. Sparrow seems pretty common here unlike the Wolf Predator and Predalien which is sold out at most of the shops I went to.

I also managed to pick up a Hot Toys Power Loader from one of the smaller shops for around $1600HKD which works out to roughly around $220. Now, I have to figure out how to bring this baby onboard the flight home!

In any case, I saw no signs of Will Turner or Davy Jones. I will try to visit Toy Hunters (Hot Toys' retail shop in HK) tomorrow evening to enquire whether Will and Davy are already released.
