I'm still pretty excited that Will is shipping. I think the only kicker is that my funds are strained as hell right now. That definitely takes me down a few notches, but it'll be worth the trouble once the figure is in hand.

I'm pretty excited about Will, I'd probably be more excited if it weren't for another Jack and Davy Jones pending, they cast a big shadow over will for me, it's like ya we got him but still waiting for the other 2. I watched the trilogy over the weekend though, very much in POTC spirits. Definitely glad they went with this will, as this or DMC are the only ones I'll buy, I was looking at his costume in Curse and it was kinda stately and he had those weirs knee socks guys had and such, where DMC started him on a path of more pirate-like garbs.

Yeah, it's more of an appetizer figure. Necessary, but very much part of the crescendo towards the figures that will be truly great. Like Jones. (And Barbossa.)

Nothing new on the Hot Toys newsletter. I'm getting pretty worried that we've seen all we're going to see from this line.

Nah, they just do it in clusters, as they do most of their lines. For example, HT's AVPR stuff is now all shipping out and they say next month there's more announcements. With the timing of when Davy and Jack will ship, we'll see something soon in their newsletter or they'll unveil them at SDCC. You've got at least Barbossa and Curse attire Jack they could sell, both of which would likely do well in sales, particularly if Jack has more new heads and corrected costume, so I don't think they'll abandon it yet. Rocky line looked dead for a long time and they popped up with more, so you never know with HT.

I'm not surprised to hear anything about new POTC figures, they just acquired the Iron Man film license and are teasing about the possibility of The Dark Knight license so I guarantee they'll be focused there for a bit and come back to POTC down the road.

I still think I prefer the V1 to the V2 smiling head... but that Cannibal sculpt is just mind-blowing!

And I didn't notice until today that HT has done away with the doll-dot! Lets hope other companies follow suit

I feel the same. I loved the smirking Jack when I 1st saw it, but something was lost in production.

This picture from the Michael Crawford review, IMO, shows V1 to be a much better sculpt.
