You, Shai, and myself!

DAMMIT! GIVE US WHAT WE WANT!!!!

ARGH!!! I never been so impatient for a figure before.. okay I have. But not in a long time. It's so funny I become so patient for waiting for items to come out or ship.. but this one figure has me crazy. :google

Try living in Europe dude, man we haven't even had 25 day notices for Will Turner yet. We'll be lucky to get 'em by Xmas. I think I may just squat at my brothers in L.A. until I have these in my possession, then I'll just sneak 'em home in my bags and pay no tax...hehehe!

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

It looks like the eyes on the new Jack are a bit glossier as well, makes them look more alive than the V1.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

Too bad I couldn't have a functioning diorama for that.

"Look what we have here, a lost bird that never learned to fly."

"Never too late to learn, whooahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh."

Barbossa vs Jack and Davy vs Jack are the 2 coolest fights in all of POTC. The wheel fight in DMC was fun but didn't have the emotional impact of rivalry like the others.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

For classic imagery, you really can't beat that shot of Davy vs. Jack on the mast.

Hero vs. villain is always more engaging...then say the wheel sequence which was more about complications and acrobatics.

Then again two real guys fighting always trumps a guy fighting a CGI character.

Another aspect of the Barboassa v Jack and Davy v Jack fights for me were not only the imagery and scope of the fights, but the music was so engaging and perfect, I was really sad when that music was trimmed down for the AWE and COTBP scores, my favorite stuff and I can't listen to it when I play the score.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

Just finished off the review and edited the photo's.
Will send off to Michael in the next hour, here are a couple more photo's I took for the review, may or may not appear in the review as Michael has the best eye (years of experience) in knowing what he needs.

And MF I think the two Jack bods are identical from my exploratory prodding’s last night!

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

Thanks for the info Wookster, still an amazing figure regardless of the base body so I'll live with it :) Very cool pictures, that chest is cool and works great with these guys. I can't wait to photograph Jack.

I've had that thing for years, must be at very least fifteen years old, I bought it in a little Indonesian import shop in Oxford when my wife was at university.
It sits on our windowsil and is full of all those little anoying bits of crap, buttons, paper clips etc, etc and I was sitting taking these photo's, looked around at it and the penny dropped.
It'll probably become a constant part of my POTC display when i finally get round to it.

I just did a eBay search and there are loads of jewelery boxes that might be to scale-

This one looks like it came straight from the movie (OK, OK, maybe it's a little too campy, but hey!)-

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

Thanks for the link. I still think Hot Toys should make a chest of Cortes with the Aztec gold inside, be a great pack in with a Barbossa.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

Depending on how strict you want to be about scale, the chest included with NECA's "Cursed Jack Sparrow vs. Cursed Barbossa" set could work. I have it on order now that I'm apparently collecting the entire NECA POTC line. :lol

Its a great set, but its way too small for the 1:6 figures. BTW, just be careful with Jack! His arms are extremely thin and I WOULD NOT switch out the hand unless you absolutaley want the other hand on there forever. The peg is very soft and tears very easily.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

I said to myself that i should avoid POTC figures after i sold my first Jack, but damn these are hard to resist.

Re: Official Hot Toys Pirates of the Caribbean Thread

I'm still waiting for my Will Turner and Cannibal Jack from AlterEgo comics.
:(
