Re: Playstation Vita (formerly PSP2/NGP - $250)

check out escape plan for the vita plasmid its psn download only but it looks amazing its in all black and white.

Yeah definitely, I'll give Escape Plan a try since it looks really unique and it's about $15.

Re: Playstation Vita (formerly PSP2/NGP - $250)

Do you have any games or consoles you don't want anymore? I usually trade in stuff when I need coin for a big purchase like this. Got about a $120 toward a Vita with some trade ins this time. I'd make more selling these online, but that's too much of a hassle for a lazy mofo like me.

Rayman does look fantastic. I don't know if I can still get into a classic platformer though. It's been ages since I played one.

Escape Plan has a great visual style. I played the demo and really loved the look of it. Control is pretty unique and will take a minute to get the hang of. It's all touch screen.

I caved and ordered a Vita from Amazon.co.uk. Ordered Rayman Origins and Uncharted with an 8GB card. I didn't intend to get this at all.

:yess: it happens to all of us from time to time. I was going to wait too until I was able to demo one. This is such a sexy piece of kit.

I agree. I got to play around with a demo unit at Target tonight and it is very sexy! I might cave and pick one up sooner than later. I hate being addicted to new tech!

Indeed. New tech is just irresistible. Especially when it relates to movies or gaming.

I just picked up the trigger grip attachment thingy. It feels really good. I can see this making a huge difference for shooters and racing games, but it also just feels comfortable to hold in general. I won't have a Vita until tomorrow to know for sure, but holding the attachment by itself, makes me pretty optimistic.

Is this cross play for real? You can pause a game on your ps3 and pick it up on the vita?

Yeah I was looking at it on Gamestops site and it looked cool, cant wait to hear you thoughts once your Vita is in hand.

It should be great as long as the triggers work well. They're just spring loaded triggers that press down on the actual shoulder buttons of the Vita. That means no analogue which sucks for driving games.

I'm also wondering how they'll map games like CoD. It missing a number of inputs that a normal controller has these days. No L1 and R1. Plus the sticks don't push in to act as buttons.

I hear some saying they'll map L and R1 to the back touch pad. That'll definitely take some getting use to. I guess they'll have to use the dpad for the other stuff. It might be awkward at first, but it at least feels like this will be the first hand held that can properly play games like that.

Re: Playstation Vita (formerly PSP2/NGP - $250)

The PSN Store has just been updated. All launch games are now available as well as apps such as Facebook, Netflix, Twitter, Flickr etc etc. I'm going on a downloading frenzy right now!!

When you guys pick up your Vita tomorrow (or right now, for some midnight-release folks), give Mutant Blobs Attack a try. It's a really fun platformer-puzzle game, and it's only $8.

Also, Vita's first online shooter, Unit 13, has a demo available on Vita's PSN. I'm gonna give it a try right now.
