Re: Playstation Vita (formerly PSP2/NGP - $250)

Oh yeah - very nice overall! Now, lets get the game support and I am golden

Yeah, that's always the question mark. Sony has seen better days and the Vita hasn't sold well in Japan, so it's a rocky start. I think it's doing much better in the US and EU though. Just have to hope for the best.

The Japan soft sales have been, to me at least, a little shocking. Even worse than PSP at this same time in the life of the system. That said, I really do think it'll do better. We just need some high profile titles unique to the Vita this year and it should do well.

Oh, for those trying to get those darn slip covers on - secret is, make sure your Vita screen is crazy clean first; I am using towlets designed to clean glasses, so that seemed to really help

Re: Playstation Vita (formerly PSP2/NGP - $250)

Re: Playstation Vita (formerly PSP2/NGP - $250)

the party chat is real nice and there is no background noise

Re: Playstation Vita (formerly PSP2/NGP - $250)

Had some hours playing Uncharted and UMvC3 and I'm having a blast. This is quite the handheld. The only downsides I'm experiencing personally is the crappy cameras which I don't really use anyway and the fact the main menu is touch-only. But other than that, splendid!

Re: Playstation Vita (formerly PSP2/NGP - $250)

Had some inital issues getting the Vita to connect to my network, but whatever it was, the issue has been corrected. Connects no problem now - playing with background colors....

Good system - no regrets, and the Uncharted game is great. Seems like a great addition to the console trilogy

:hi5: I had some trouble on day 1 myself with disconnects, but been smooth the last two days. I was iffy about buying a Vita too, but so far I'm also very glad I did.

I'd rather save the cash for the Hot Toys Keatonmobile then spend it on this thing, i learned my lesson with the purchase of a PSP thats been collecting dust since 2008 maybe, and even the name of this handheld sounds weird, like some Gillette womans razor..Vita. XD

I totally understand the concern, and man, that Batmobile is awesome but for $600 it has to perform a sex act

Re: Playstation Vita (formerly PSP2/NGP - $250)

So it turns out my parents neighbours have had my Vita for 3 days and didn't bring it round and the postman didn't put a note through the door to say where it was. Pretty pissed off right now. Douchebags!

Sorry to hear it; at least mystery resolved. Not cool of postman to not leave any indication

Wow, douchebags is right. How did it eventually come out?

One thing I really dislike about the Vita is that it disconnects from wi-fi whenever it goes into sleep/standby. There's no way to stop it from doing so. This seems archaic to me, as it is something that the 3DS and ios devices have no problems with. The Vita does continue downloading when asleep, though.

That's not the worst of it, either. It disconnects from wi-fi, but it also logs you off of PSN.

Even worse, when you wake the device again, it doesn't immediately reconnect to wi-fi or PSN, you have to launch an app that accesses the network first! And for each app that connects to PSN, you have to wait for it to connect.

To remedy this I could leave 3G on, but it'd be a waste when I am at home and have readily accessible wi-fi internet.

The Vita could have used either a hardware wi-fi switch or one in the software. Hopefully they could patch it in with a firmware update.

Every time someone logs online to PSN, you get a notification. It makes me wonder if I annoy anybody on my friend's list, because I find myself letting the Vita go to standby a lot after brief sessions (to check notifications, etc etc). the Vita goes to sleep after 5 minutes of idle (that's the maximum you can set it to).

Yeah, this really surprised me!

I agree that they need to find a way to patch this. It's brand new, so I'm hopeful that these types of issues will be addressed.

Did they open it? Jerkoffs.
