Oh, I agree that the bottom is slightly bigger than the top. Just not to the extent of the DST version and the MR was based off of the same prototypes, so yup, it's wrong too. And I agree, this is all kind of silly to worry about in this scale. BUT, I can say a couple of things.
That site is really the end-all-be-all of Communicator stuff, so anything I say would pale in comparison.
Since you asked, nanjin, here's a few thoughts...I'd like to say first that I think they look GREAT and even if you don't make any changes I'd still be very impressed.
On the phaser:
-the square "indent" on the back of the phaser in front of the four metal ribs wasn't there on the original.
-it's also a bit thinner top to bottom, especially in the back.
- I don't know if you have the window on the front, either.
-the "cradle" for the smaller phaser (or 'P1') is a little different. On the front, the top piece is straight going into the P1, not angled up. and on the back, the P1 is angled slightly out, not angled in.
Pics:
- Also, the P1 has two knobs on it, side by side, and some of the hero props even had a small jewel in between (but if you leave that off, that's ok too). Also the front grill isn't recessed, it's actually on top of the P1 a bit. The front has a small nozzle, and the bottom has a trigger.
Pic:
On the Tricorder, it looks good, but you're missing the moire on the right side in the middle compartment. Also, it's a little thinner to the bottom than at the top, not quite a rectangle.
Pics:
You can see the moire in the first pic. The bottom left one shows how it angles in a bit. I also didn't know if you had a pic of the back.
The black belts look just about right, although how much they were used is a bit in doubt. They do show up a few times, but most of the time, they just used velcro sown into the costume pants.
Like I said, I'm really impressed by what I've seen!
