Oh, I agree that the bottom is slightly bigger than the top. Just not to the extent of the DST version :) and the MR was based off of the same prototypes, so yup, it's wrong too. And I agree, this is all kind of silly to worry about in this scale. BUT, I can say a couple of things.

That site is really the end-all-be-all of Communicator stuff, so anything I say would pale in comparison.

Since you asked, nanjin, here's a few thoughts...I'd like to say first that I think they look GREAT and even if you don't make any changes I'd still be very impressed.

On the phaser:

-the square "indent" on the back of the phaser in front of the four metal ribs wasn't there on the original.

-it's also a bit thinner top to bottom, especially in the back.

- I don't know if you have the window on the front, either.

-the "cradle" for the smaller phaser (or 'P1') is a little different. On the front, the top piece is straight going into the P1, not angled up. and on the back, the P1 is angled slightly out, not angled in.

- Also, the P1 has two knobs on it, side by side, and some of the hero props even had a small jewel in between (but if you leave that off, that's ok too). Also the front grill isn't recessed, it's actually on top of the P1 a bit. The front has a small nozzle, and the bottom has a trigger.

On the Tricorder, it looks good, but you're missing the moire on the right side in the middle compartment. Also, it's a little thinner to the bottom than at the top, not quite a rectangle.

Pics:

You can see the moire in the first pic. The bottom left one shows how it angles in a bit. I also didn't know if you had a pic of the back.

The black belts look just about right, although how much they were used is a bit in doubt. They do show up a few times, but most of the time, they just used velcro sown into the costume pants.

Like I said, I'm really impressed by what I've seen!

Khan wasn't a Klingon!! LOL

Klingons are almost as cool as apes!!

I can't see the pictures so is kind of hard for me to understand your comments. Can you repost them or better yet send the pictures to my email: [email protected]

Thankfully I've got that end covered. :joy

I do as well. I'm not going to commit to any of these heads until I see a sculpt and decide if I can upgrade from what I have. Nanjin, if you have any uniforms or accessories left over PM me and I will assess what I need. I'm suppose to be getting some uniforms from another source, but they seem a long time coming.

Wow, someone else is doing them too? Do you have any samples and how much are they selling them for? Do the uniforms include accessories? I want to make sure the price I paid is reasonable. I can use this info to talk to the production company to lower the final payment. If they can do a better set, I might be in trouble by going into this project. Please let us know. I don't want to waste my money and afford. I still can back out from this to limit my lost. On the other hand, it is a good thing to let other to know so they have something else to choose from.

I was able to get a set of the Scifimetroplis heads because I know the sculptors. They were in the process of making the accessories, but everything is on hold while they try and sort out the licensing. It's been a long time and there is serious doubt that it will ever happen, but they haven't given up yet. For the foreable future I'm told those sculpts will not be available. In the meantime you shouldn't have any problems moving whatever amount you make as long as you don't over produce it. The level of frustration on the part of the sculptors and Scifimetroplis is unbelievable. Tons of crap coming out from Diamond and now Playmates, and potentially the best TOS figures to ever be made are setting on a shelf, because some people can't get out of their own way.

Nanjin, I realize that you probably don't want to lock yourself into a particular price before all of the details are set, but have you given us an estimate of how much the accessories and outfits would be? I'm pretty sure I want to get both, but I'm a little reluctant to commit to anything without a general idea of how much it might be. Giving us an estimate might also help you determine how many people really want to get on board. Apologies if you've already covered this, but I didn't see it.

I'm feeling the same as icruise on this... I'm very interested, but a bit worried the end cost on the outfits and accessories might be astronomical.

With a name like Galactiboy shouldn't astronomy be right up your alley? :lol
