Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

I understand the Movie - Purchase theory but look at the LSF Wolf Predator, it's probably the best Predator to date from the worst movie. I actually didn't buy it because of this at the time but I regret it now (that and it was mighty expensive).

Predator 2 is a masterpiece compared to the AVP movies!

I agree!!!

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

Predator 2 is obviously not as good as the original but it's 100% my second favorite and a really enjoyable movie. I don't consider the AVP predators at all. Wolf was a great design but unfortunately for me his movie face was very poorly done (not on the statue's, the one in the actual movie). The "Predators" were ok but they have some questionable body proportions and mask. Also no netting made them look off.

Predator 2 for me offered the most insight into the species and the best development of the character. It gave us lots of new weapons, the clan aspect, an idea of their lifespan, details that they hunt other species (including Aliens), a more in depth look at their technology.

We (as Predator fans) probably owe more to Predator 2 than any other movie in the franchise including cross overs. It even started the whole AVP thing and a comic book series.

I said I like Predator 2 it's just that I think it's choice of prey was incredibly poor compared to all the other movie Preds. 'Gang members', police officers, civilians on a subway train. Compare those very easy targets to U.S. special forces, Alien warriors, human predators who excel at killing or even a brand new unknown species to hunt. All admirable choices. The P2's were not, for me, admirable on any level but I still enjoy the film.

Now I know that the Berserker was not at all an 'honourable' Predator as he actually enjoyed murdering unarmed people. But then he is quite different to all the other Predators in that he is quite psychotic.

My complaints aren't with the film Predator 2, which I rate a decent 7/10, but with the character. As you said, it probably did more to flesh out the Predator universe than any of the other Predator movies. I absolutely despise AVP Requiem. It's the only film featuring a Predator that I genuinely dislike but I can't criticize the Wolf Predator for his choice of prey as it was a completely new, & potentially not at all very lame :) , species.

Anyhoo, that's just how I felt about the character when I first saw P2 back in the day & how I still feel about the Predator 2 character. But the character is aesthetically very pleasing hence why I was very tempted to order this statue. Coolio dreds & all. :wink1:

The way I see it, Wolf is an awesome predator given a horrible script and terrible director.
We seriously need a prequel movie for him.

Geez - all this time since AVPR and this is the first time I've seen somebody come up with that idea - virtual beer in your direction dude! - nice!

Yeah guys... A prequel that shows wolf and how he got half his face melted off would be a pukka story👍

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

I'd like to see the sequel actually, he's alive barely but struggling through life day to day with Acute Radiation poisoning, being teased by all his little grandpreddys. I suspect it would be a better film that that steaming turd that was AVP: R. Any more wolf would be a good thing though imo. Even if he pops in to Predators 2 I doubt many would complain. Hope that movie makes it to our screens also, I was presently surprised with the first one.

Anyway, here's some more P2 awesomeness, have to love this guy.

Spear... huge!

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

I need that spear!!! Extended version! I have the Master Replicas version and it's amazing... It would of been better if it had working lights though :/

Ran out of wall space. Wasn't my favourite piece much prefer statues and busts.

Yeah I know your problem :/ I run out of wall space all the time a shift things around all the time lol

I've got my spear under my P2 mask... Looks sweet. And have my plasma cannon under my wolf ;)

I'm really getting into busts now

Great set of pics Python, especially the one above not see this one before. I always get excited when seeing behind-the-scenes or promotional images I've not come across. Should make for some great reference for me on P2 related sculptures further down the line. Thanks for posting!

In regard to Wolf, I agree. Everything came together for him so well as a character except the movie he was in. As much as I love the character, I took an instant dislike to Sideshow's LSF. For me the pose is much too dynamic and not really an accurate representation of what we saw in the film. I had the opposite reaction to the P2 maquette and ordered him in a heartbeat.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

You're very welcome, I'll see if I have any more hidden away. And yeah I have to say all criticisms aside, The P2 has a great pose!!
