Suppose this was a lot more constructive...

Hypocritical? Where? Yes the base isn't it's strongest part, I never said it was :dunno

I never attacked anyone just made a reference to all the bashing.

Time to move on...

Let's start with this:
I like the pose, the base is weak.
Dislike with the base noted.
Zerox didn't even put that picture up and he is entitled to an opinion.
I happen to agree the head is rather large and its waist isn't much thicker than its leg, far too skinny in the body.

It's funny that we've had page after page of negativity for the P2 Maquette and you jump in after someone says they don't like a statue from a company who operate via Facebook and have no QC at all.

I agree. We should be able to post our opinions. Positive or negative, but you clearly have a problem when Heavy Metal Spike and I were commenting about the teeth on the base. You respond with this:

What ever makes you guys feel better...I'm looking forward to mine.

Then you decided to cancel your preorder:

Well... I've just gone against everything i've said and cancelled! :slap
Saying one thing, then doing the opposite. Actually admitting to being hypocritical. :lol

Then after cancelling:
Only Ex dissing allowed now...

Please! :lol

Stupid Breather Mask :lecture

Sure sounds like bashing.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

We must be getting bored waiting if we're taking shots at each-other instead of the Maquette.

Maybe Sideshow need to admit they've changed their minds and will add quills after all (it'll probably be on the base though knowing them!)

(* there - that's more like it *) :)

Let's play nice guys - no need for meany stuffs.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

:slap You must have a lot of time on your hands

Quote #1, The base is weak, fact.

Quote #2, I was talking about a completely different product, the AD Predator which has no relation to this product.
Again I made a comment about the bashing. No one is forcing you to buy if you don't like it.
If that is the case, make your point and move on.

Quote #3 & 4, I was and and still am looking forward to mine. Being an International customer I can't trust SS to make this worth my £900+ so i cancelled and will buy locally if it turns out nice for a lot less.

Quote #5, IT WAS A JOKE, NOTICE THE ':lol'

:wave

Did you think I was being sincere about the tootpaste and brush, or did you not realize that was a joke as well? :lol

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

It's clear me pulling that quote up has angered you. Obviously it was a joke but it was part of sustained bashing.

I apologise if anything I have said upset you but I am not a hypocrite. I thought the whole QC issue through and decided the safer bet was to wait for in hand pictures before ordering.
The Ex isn't a must for me so at the same time as making sure SS don't screw it up I can save around £100.

Can we please draw a line under this and move on?

Fingers crossed for an awesome Maquette, including nice pearly whites.

You've got me all wrong. I'm not angered. Honestly.
The base on this thing has been a point of humor for me and others (if the Busey comments were any indication). :)

Now, that said, I still have this on WL. Unless others could chime in with an earlier time than 19:45:31, I'm probably one of the first ones here to convert if there are any to be converted. Those who WL'ed hours after me sure are confident they will be getting one.

But from now until then, I'm going to have some fun with that base. :yess:

Don't rule out the possibility of someone coming up with a custom base for this P2 maquette...:rock

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

It is sad, but so true.

Stinger, what are your thoughts on the overall maquette? Have you ordered the EX? Yes, there are a few tweeks that are needed but then weren't people saying that about the Wolf Pred LSF....and look how happy everyone is about that one :) I think it looks good for what it is in the proto despite the pose looking slightly awkward from certain angles...but as for the final production piece? Well, that's anyone's guess as to how that's gonna turn out...my fingers are crossed

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

Pose was an INSTANT turn-off . . . cross between a morris-dancer and a member of the bolshoi ballet.

Haha!

I've always found the debate between different posing styles interesting and it always does come down to how you prefer you characters to be presented. In the case of the Wolf LSF, I believe this to be an extreme representation of what the character would be capable of if he really existed outside of the world of the film. It does a good job showing off both the lithe gracefulness of the predator, but also his frenzied aggressiveness. In this respect it fulfils the mandate of Sideshow's 'Legendary' line very well.

Personally I find myself drawn more to the P2 maquette for it's film world connotations. Its something that could actually have been sculpted during pre-production of the movie. I think it also conveys a subtle (some may read 'boring' neither rightly nor wrongly) and grounded representation of Kevin Peter Hall in the actual suit.

Regardless of which style of pose you prefer your statues to have, I think its safe to say that the popularity of the Predator as a character means that he will continue to be interpreted in this medium far into the future, so that we may all have the choice as to how we display him.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

Bare in mind the on screen predators were ultimately men in restricting suits so incredibly dynamic actions weren't possible. A sacrifice I'm sure everybody was happy to make given the alternative is CGI :slap I'm sure had it been possible we would have seen these guys in very extreme poses. Now all that said I love the pose on the P2, It is the best thing about it imo.
