Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

Bare in mind the on screen predators were ultimately men in restricting suits so incredibly dynamic actions weren't possible. A sacrifice I'm sure everybody was happy to make given the alternative is CGI :slap I'm sure had it been possible we would have seen these guys in very extreme poses. Now all that said I love the pose on the P2, It is the best thing about it imo.

I concur ;) the P2 pose is ace! Nothing to moan about at all!

It does seem a bit of a red hugh will suit these, I might work on that myself ;)

The city hunter did do quite a lot of in camera leaping in the film (probably the best dynamic action in the series) particularly in the slaughterhouse scene, so a good range of movement is certainly possible in the suits (Yeah, definitely better than CGI :)) but I agree with your earlier comment about motion being difficult to capture well in a static piece, which is why I prefer this maquette.

Sideshow does seem to have a thing for overly dynamic poses sometimes, such as the Tracker maquette who looks as if he's putting too much effort into restraining the hound that isn't really pulling away from him that much. The Beserker maquette looks as if he's running so fast he's actually tripping over the log!

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

This pic you posted before looks awesome!

Damn that makes the crappy mask & dreds look even worse! - like the robots from the old UK "Smash" instant potato commercial!

Maybe I should display this without the head and pretend he's had an encounter with Berserker?

.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

Even I knew that one lol, 27 here... shal we play that game? :lol

But yeah I as much as I'm trying to stay positive about this now, I really hope somebody with an awful lot of talent sculpts a new head/heads for this. I would actually pay for them at this point despite the initial outlay.

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

Come on guys... I think we are being a tad over reactive with regards to the head? It's not that bad lol. Yes there could be slight improvements, but given it's slight inaccuracies it's still a beast of a maquette.

No, it's very bad actually...

Why did you bloody show me that... Now I can see it's really bad... Ahhhh mannnnnnnn! Lol
Look at the size of the targeting laser recess... WTF sideshow... And how sharp are under the eyes compared to the soft lip of the original mask... Not happy now. :/ lol

Yeah lol, sorry about that.. I wont go through everything again, lets just say it's way off...

Re: Predator 2 City Hunter 1:4 Maquette

How have they managed to sculpt it so differently then actually be happy and start production?? What is going on?

Have you only just met Sideshow? :lol

Chances are the proto, which everyone seems to hate so much, will be 100 times better than the production piece.

Maybe they'll pull a Hot Toys and tweak a few things before going into production? They're not usually very good about posting updates for this sort of thing and they have put the release back (although they do this all the time :( and nothing changes) Positive mental attitude and all that.

Kind of makes you wonder if they're sculpted this way just to be a little different from what you see in the film, just so the artist can put their own little stamp on the character?
