Predator diorama

Well...I FINALLY got my Sideshow Ex. Predator Dio today. After the incredibly long wait for SS (and missing the first delivery attempt), I can say it was worth the wait.

VERY cool sculpt and some great paint apps. The exclusive alternate head is alot better than I thought it would be.

Sideshow also threw in a $20 gift card in the box. Not sure why...but I'll take it.

I can't say I'm too big on the unmasked head, which is why I opted for the regular version, but it is pretty damn sharp looking. I really feel the sculpt on the Ex. P2 though, I think they nailed that perfect.

Can't wait to see if/when they make a Wolf. All of the AVP guys I can guess what background would be, with Wolf... it could be woods, an urban scene, a rooftop, etc. So many possibilities.

I just have no interest in Alien 3 or A:R, but I'd say, the entire Alien/Predator dio line is a big success for Sideshow, every piece looks and comes out great, great product for it's price. I'm really glad they took this on, some of my favorite Alien Predator pieces.

Just received mine today.

I must say, for the size of this thing, it just blows me away. Everything is finely sculpted to the last detail, the paintwork is very very good. It is definitely one of nicest Predator sculpts ever. The pose with the tree is just perfect. I honestly couldn't be happier with this item, especially for $150.

Another question for everybody with this.

Does everyone's hoses from the masked head line up with the slots for them on the shoulder armor?

Mine doesn't but I figure that's a point of variation, trying to confirm whether or not this is a flaw for sending it back for replacement.

computerfly, you need to do photos for sideshow, you pictures of the predator, look 100% better than theirs. great pictures ! and congrats on your predator haul.

As cool as these dios look, some of them can be a fair bit of work to set up. I remember untangling all the chains from the ALIEN dio when I first got it, what a nightmare that was, but the real chains add so much it's worth it.

Sideshow knocked this one out of the park.

Just like they did a FANTASTIC depiction of the original ALIEN, I'm glad they started out strong with the original PREDATOR. This piece is really cool and well, WELL done in terms of Sideshow. I got the Exc. version and I'm leaving him masked (I agree that the unmasked head paint is somewhat lacking) because he looks cooler that way.

I'd like them too, but things really slew down after this dio's announcement, I was a bit surprised to see P2 at SDCC, seemed like they might not finish line. Personally, I'd be fine with them skipping AVP and going to AVPR, cooler designs and characters to me, from the Alien warrior's domeless look to Wolf and PredAlien. I'm really unattached to any design from AVP, cool movie to watch, but no favorites from it.
