Wow this thread certainly has gone to hell.

Figure is actually a huge disappointment so far for me. I was hoping to display this alongside or at the least upgrade my P1 body, but so far nothing to me is really an improvement over the P1, minus the right arm/joint. Everything else is just bleh. A shame considering the head looked so good on the proto.

Biggest disappointment so far has GOT to be that mask. It's like they completely disregarded the proto and grabbed the mold for the P1 mask :lol

Taylerdurdem masked P1 looks like he might stay as the lone 1/6 Pred in my collection.

I would kill for the Marines, since they care to sculpt their Human sculpts accurately.. plus the new techniques and upgraded materials/skills they have today...

Word. :goodpost:

And I do love those Marines for what they are (see avatar). The gear is so great, even today. But they can all use upgrades and I would happily upgrade my own figures for those with better likenesses, better tailoring of the suits to the character, better quality boots, better detailing on the armor, etc. etc.

Yup...:pray::pray::pray:

My Big Chap figure started peeling on the back about 6-7 months after I received it..
Don't DARE use the inner jaw feature, rips the mouth tendons and causes the dome to come loose from the rubber part of the head. Wrist pegs snapped right out of the box..I was as gentle as possible with them, but they just..snapped.

I loved my Dog Alien, but he started to peel on his lower back as well...left mouth tendon ripped from using the inner jaw feature, rubber started slightly deteriorating on the sides of the legs.
And it's a _____ to stand that figure up...actually, to stand up all of their Alien figures.
I don't see why they don't give them stands.

My AvP Drone is still alive, but the rubber on his head is peeling away from the dome, and there is a little bit of deterioration on the stomach. Put a ton of Mod Podge on him though, so that should keep him together for a while.

Darn, so sorry to hear your Aliens in those state. :(

I wish my recently purchased Big Chap won't suffer from those rubber peeling. Thanks for that inner jaw advice on him. :1-1:

actually when I look at it closer in the photos I kinda like the lightly painted part but the shouldve made a better transition between the colors. It looks like they just put down their brushes in midway D:

Use the inner jaw advice on ALL of your HT Aliens. The AvP Drone is the only one who can take it..and not for very long.

I had to throw out the Big Chap and Dog, unfortunately. Gonna try to sell my AvP Drone sometime soon.

I kept trying to think of ways to save my Doggy.. I drilled several holes in him, and was going to put some blood coming out of the holes, with the Hippie spear (spear that came with Lost) stuck in him, hang him from some fishing line randomly in my room..decided to just cut off his head and save it.
My Big Chap was in such bad condition I couldn't even salvage the head.

It hurts to think about how much they cost..a total of 280$..jesus.

I was just reading wookster's amazing review of the DX06 Jack Sparrow figure and how HT really wanted to send him an early preview of the piece for review, which meant they must have been extremely proud of their work on it -- and let's face it, it's arguably the best Jack Sparrow figure ever made. They took the iconic character, injected him full of perfection, and stood by the finished product with pride and excitement like it was a massive accomplishment in their history.

The whole thing got me thinking... do they ever stand behind their Predators and Aliens to such an extent? There's still hope for a true, definitive 1/6-scale P1 or P2 (I'm hoping for the latter more at this point, since we've already gotten the standard P1 and Classic). Whether or not they are DX pieces is irrelevant since their being Predators ensures a plethora of accessories, but for the longest time these hunters were HT's hottest thing. Their biggest cash cow. They'd sell on the primary market instantly, then get sold on the secondary market for small fortunes. Those days seem to be dying out, and why should they? It's only one of the most grail-saturated lines in the company's catalog.

I just can't help but get the vibe that Classic took a backseat to the other, more critical items on HT's to-do list this time of year. They've clearly bitten off more than they can chew, and it's been going on since 2009; notice how they promised Avatar merchandise in 2010 and ended up delivering two years after the film was released. HT either needs to learn how to organize and plan so that everything they put out gets at least almost-equal attention and care, or to realize that the Predator is not a secondary, less-important piece. If done well, the company could easily make bank.

Ah, late-night rants... passion just seems dead during the day for me. Between dreaming of the perfect 1/6 Predator figure and watching my cat snooze in front of the monitor, this kind of thing is what makes my nights. I should probably get to bed, though.

Good thing I only have one Alien figure (Big Chap) but w/ HT getting the Promoetheus license, I might add some depending on the film. :monkey1 Will do. Thanks!

Hope you get a good sale for it. Good luck! :wink1:

THANK YOU :goodpost:
that is exactly what I meant with m older posts, that HT will care about about their other licenses and other stuff coming out but take a back seat with the preds,
yeah you said it better than I did, but, this yeah I agree
what makes me mad is that they mess up on the predators even on small things, like making their Dreads longer, something so stupid and easy to fix but they didnt........

looking at the classic pred im happy to have bought the original p1 by hot toys may have been expensive but im happy none the less plus it came with a Taylor d. mask, after seeing the actual product of the classic pred it only reinforced my feelings about my p1 but ill still be getting the classic pred just to see if in hand it looks better pics never really tell the whole story..

:lol Good luck with finding the "perfect" Predator or Alien piece, because what you consider to be perfect isn't necessarily going to be considered perfect by others. But, most of what you're saying is based on rumor and speculation. I don't think anyone on this forum knows what goes on behind Hot Toys doors. How and even where they produce their figures is all a big mystery, so to say that the are over stretched or biting off more than they can chew may as well be fantasy. Maybe their upcoming book will reveal some of their secrets at last.

No.. :( He'll stay in the movies where he belongs, but we'll still have LOTS of cool stuff to keep us more than happy. :yess:

Well, perfection is impossible, we all know that. Not even the DX06 Jack Sparrow is perfect, but its EASILY more than good enough.
This Predator just falls short. Silly little things that are easy to fix are stopping it from being on Jack Sparrows level of quality.
You can just see that HTs have put a lot of care and effort in the DX06.

well sculpt wise it was... you know what nevermind, im not responding to butters post, there is no point,
