This is one figure I can get and put on display without getting wife aggro. I'll just swap him with my P1, and there is no way she will even notice a difference haha...

I got mine from Sideshow and the paint seemed fine to me. He has the little beady eyes and everything.

think about it guys... it literally takes three small alterations to the current classic fig to make the original predator... this has Hot Toys re-issue MO all over it.
1) - repaint (brown leather details into black)
2) - armor replacement (all above waist)
3) - head replacement
too much!

They both have seemingly half painted heads if you mean dark crowns then pale faces. Except one has an orange tint and squinted eyes and the other has a light brown and fuller eyes.
I'd say any retailer (Sideshow, AlterEgo, CornerStoreComics, OneSixthBruce, Toys2, etc.) should have an updated batch. It's the Taiwanese and Hong Kong sellers I'd be weary of.

dunno... yesterday, I said "wheeewww" pretty loudly and wiped the sweat off my face, when the new announcement came. my offer for classic had just gotten declined on eBay and it felt like I just saved $260... but today I'm again starting to feel like I need this figure to update my P1 and the mrs. doesen't like the idea one bit. I'm really puzzled with this one...
I do know that if HT really is redoing P1 in 1/6th scale, this figure will eventually be far inferior (if they really get everything right this time around). but I still want this and I have no intention to display anything from the movie "PREDATORS", ever... should prolly stay out of this thread to avoid seeing all these great pics of the classic
initially, I was going to pass anyway, as it didn't feel right. the head looks way more like CM than it does the original P1 design. the body is an improvement, but it still looks off to be P1. and the old HT P1 just looks like the monkey that it is...

Do what Im doing. Get the classic pred, but sell it if and when the remake P1 is revealed.
If youre OK with the original HT P1, then dont bother.
Thing is, this one isn't fetching any money on the secondary market right now, and down the road with a NEW P1 announcement, you might get significantly less than what you initially paid selling this then. So much so, you might just say "I'd be better just keeping this, than taking that insult of an amount."
I bought it to keep it, hopefully. I reallllllly thinned out my collection, and this is one of the ones I intend to keep.

yeah, that was the plan with the original HT P1 (minus the bone trophies and few other parts), but I dunno... something just doesen't add up? I'm not OK with the original, but I'm not all-the-way OK with the update plan either... I'm reluctant either way.
