Finally opened him and put all the original predator bits on him which actually help it a lot. I like it. I do like it more than the original one I think but overall I still don't love it...

I just think its because the big NECA one looks better than any of the hot toys one by a mile

Got mines yesterday. Totally forgot about the light up function on the arm. Tried it tonight and it looks sweet!

I was reading as far back as I could but couldn't find anything. Any pics of classic with zerker pred? Is he as tall or shorter? And scale wise, does he fit in better with dutch?

Here's a shot with Mr Black. Not the best angle or pose, but as you can see - he's just a touch shorter. He's also a touch taller than the HT P1 - so I imagine he would fit better with Dutch.

I have classic next to Machiko right now, and he towers over her.

Really why do you say garbage? Isn't that a little extreme?

I know it's a bigger scale but the big one has a much more realistic looking fish netting and real quills on his face...

But most importantly it's the sculpt of the body which I think windrix sculpted the best predator I've ever seen... The classic predators torso looks too long and his legs too stumpy and his thighs too thin and his neck too long.

Proportions on this classic look a little weird do me overall,,, I truly think that it's not as much value and quality as it is for the price and while obviously inferior for quality when you factor price alone i truly believe NECA is the better value of the two.

Also not sure how you could pose him for hours... I can't get much more than a static up and down without another pose looking silly

The NECA figure doesn't have real quills... and the fishnets are definitely not more realistic (nor accurate in shape, for that matter). It's definitely an amazing value, but the price is proportional to what you get.

Because you don't have the hassle of trying to weave the wire through the dreads and fiddle around trying to plug the cable in.

Again that would make no difference if the head was loose or not as theres plenty of cable to put the mask on with the head in pretty much any position, And that would explain why some heads fall off when you touch them and other don't how ?

I won't say the Neca 1/4 is better than HT by a mile but i won't say it's garbage either. Each figure has merits. I like the HS and proportions of the neca better but the HT classic's overall quality and detail is just superior.

Thanks for being the brave one. Way too many lovers of that one around here for me to ever think about saying that without someone else to back me up.

The NECA 18" Predator is FAR from "Garbage". And I think Windrix aka "Tankman" has giving us the most screen accurate P1 sculpt thus far. Its just NECA's paint/factories that bring it down a notch in quality.

Of course a NECA figure is not going to be as great a quality as any HT product, but its far from Garbage. And to be able to get such a fine product from NECA for $100, its worth it.

And calling the HT Classic "Perfect" is a bit ridiculous on it own. I mean, its a GREAT release and I love it, but its also FAR from being "Perfect".

Can a "PERFECT" Predator product even exist? Outside of Stan Winstons studio, anyway?

I agree, there will never be a perfect Pred, not from HT or NECA anyway.

I seen the NECA pred and for what you pay its great value. The detail on the HT is better however.

Alright alright. You all have a point. Garbage is not the term I should have used. Haha. I was just in the heat of excitement on the new classic pred. For 100 bucks, you're right that's a good deal. But I still think the ht one came with so much stuff, and was done extremely well.

Not referring to absolute screen accuracy which is how most people on here judge every figure. I don't know how they possibly collect any other toys with that amount of judgement. As far as I know, no one is every closer to realism than hot toys. But whatever to each his own I guess. It's perfect to me. I have seen the predator movie probably a hundred times and I have never analyzed the thickness of his thighs or every tiny detail of his costume. When I see this new classic figure, it's just like damn. That's the predator. And it looks real as hell. ( and I know it's meant to be from the new movie. )
When I look at the neca one ((rrznick is right )) its been drowned out at the factory. It looks like a big poorly painted plastic bath toy or something. Reminds me of the mezco liono or something.
But oh well. It is a lower price point. And it's larger. So pros and cons. But I also think it was a little over the top for the original poster saying no hot toys predator even comes close to being as good as the big neca one. I think it's safe to say the ht classic is better. Not judging by price point affordability but by actual quality of the work.

Really, they should engage a sculptor with experience for the new line or you will see the same ugly inacurrate Preds in 1/4.


If a sculpt is off, nothing helps.
The scuplt is maximally mediocre, why collect something like this ?
Figures/statues should represent the Movies as much as possible, especially for a such high price.
Not the case when i look at the HT Predators.
