Like the others are saying, I really am having a hard time finding a reason to keep P1 after getting this guy in hand. Just look at OMG's comparison pic. That tells the story in a nutshell. I think I will mine my remaining P1 for some of his gear and then offload the rest on eBay for whatever I can get.
Riddick could be right--HT may give us an official P1 re-release one of these days. But the need seems so slight now that Classic is so similar that I don't think it's gonna happen for several years if at all. The guys that want 99.99% Winston accuracy are such a niche group that I'm not sure HT is gonna go all out trying to cater to them at the moment. But if HT gives us a much more movie accurate P1 in 3 or 4 years, we'll all be drooling over it and will happily upgrade our classics, I'm sure.
I found a spare P2 stand that I'm using for this guy. Probably the best stock option available.
The more I see Berserker in the pictures with Classic the more I want that too! Even though I not a fan of the face paint. I could get Berserker if I do not get the SS Alien Warrior statue.

That character is better than the Predators character.
I doubt I would want Berserker if I did not buy Classic.

I'm glad I sold of my P1 soon after this was announced, this version is just so much better.
I really prefer the new bodies, even though they have less articulation, it just makes the predator looks so much better.
If the new Predator is as good as this, I'm gonna get one too!

I posted this in the Jack Sparrow thread, so I'll echo it here--I got both this and Jack Sparrow DX yesterday. And Sparrow is a great figure. He's probably as good a deal as you will find with Hot Toys, considering all the nifty accessories, details, options, etc.
But between that figure and Predator, Predator was much more impressive to me. He exceeded my expectations, while Jack merely met them. Hard to say why, but it is true. Out of the box, I was just really really happy with how Classic Predator turned out.

High praise. That Jack Sparrow looks pretty damn good. My wallet thanks me for being thoroughly underwhelmed by the POTC movies.

Thats why I love HT human figures for the most part. The clothing is amazing. I'll never understand the need for certain custom clothing especially when it costs so much - it aint that much better than HT.
Yeah I usually dont get interested in human figures apart from Arnie but clothing on things like Jack Sparrow makes me want it!
I have picked up some custom work from Rainman (technically, his tailor), but it's because he makes characters Hot Toys doesn't/hasn't. The stuff with folks paying $1,000 for more screen accurate Joker socks. . .I don't get that, either. But I do get paying $400 for a small run of extremely high end, hand made, movie accurate Marty McFly or Bill the Butcher outfit and accessories. Because that's the only game in town!
Not that there's anything wrong with wanting screen accurate Joker socks. And yeah, just the vest on Sparrow alone is awesome.

Hmmm. You have a point. Though I personally just don't see enough needed improvement in say Kato's joker outfit over the DX01 outfit to warrant paying that kind of money for it. Emphasis on the word 'needed', not saying his work isn't an improvement.

I put my order in for him. To awesome to pass up. I'm guessing I plan on selling my old P1 after converting this one. No reason to have two plus I could use the room.
. . .particularly considering that HT is gonna give us another Joker soon anyway, and it's total cost with all the bells and whistles will probably be less than Kato's vest alone. BUT, an artist charges what he will, folks pay what they will, and the market functions as it does.
