What would be the best body switch option? I dont see the ganghood option, looks too bulky for Mel or my taste.

You can't get much slimmer than a Ganghood 2.0.

It's a wiry body made for Bruce Lee.

From Kit's listing:

What it can't do is completely shrink the leather jacket, which was designed for a more broad shouldered frame.

I think I am using that body in another figure, I will check it.

thank you

According to my records the Peter Parker was on the JX S01, but when I compared it to the Max figure the two bodies looked the same.

Searching my records for 'JX' showed that at some point I switched the bodies over, and used the JX for a Devil's Brigade Wolverine (and put Peter on the Ganghood 2.0).

Testing the Premier Max sculpt on the JX S01 reveals that the sculpt matches the body's skin tone almost perfectly!

This feels like a never ending project, but this might be final necessary change.

KG Hobby stocks the JX, if that's the proper route to go.

Thanks for your tries and comments, @Asta, they are very helpful! 🤗

Premier Max take 3.

Was the third time a charm?

I'm not sure.

The JX S01 has different proportions to the Ganghood 2.0.

It has longer legs, so I only needed half the amount of white tack in the boots. The jacket appears to be a tiny bit shorter in relation to the placement of the top of the trousers. The biggest pay off is that the body matches the sculpt.

I measured the diameter of the neck on both the Ganghood 2.0 and JX S01 and they were identical.

So this is now Premier Max on the JX S01:

Both are an improvement over the stock figure.

The GH was a little better proportionally for the meeting of the jacket and trousers, but the JX is an almost perfect match for the sculpt paint since it's a properly tanned body.

On balance I prefer the uniformity of the JX, and will work on futzing the belt placement.

Looks good, and the matching skin tone is a great addition to this option.

There was another similar one that I used for Peter Parker: JX Toys S01 Asian Muscle Body.

The biceps are bit more prominent on this one though.
have that one too. I am using it for John Mclane and Johnny Lawrence. Its smaller, almost like a kid.

Hope I get Max soon, will try different bodies. Maybe I will mod it for fun and then sell it :)

I think it's the deciding factor between the two.

Something I noticed just now, and it's also noticeable in the last photos, is that the shoulder armour has ripped free from where it was glued to the sleeve, taking the glued piece of pleather with it.

I think being free from the sleeve it made the jacket more mobile, and I managed to pull it down a bit more at the front.

It's a tiny adjustment, and you probably can't even tell from the new photo, but in hand he suddenly looked better.

I've been comparing the figure now, as he is in hand, to all the previous photos I took of the original and Ganghood 2.0 versions, and I'm pretty sure the current JX S01 set up is the best he's looked.

watch out for those "cr#tch grabbers", they are gonna ruin the pleather over time. I am actually using a dynamic pole since I detected the deterioration in his special area. ;)

@Asta I like that take 3. looks much better now. This is gonna be challenging. I have a Rocco sculpt that I will try on this figure.

The grabbers aren't actually holding him as he's standing on his own. They're just giving peace of mind that he can't fall forwards by accident. One of the rubber grabber tops is just barely touching the pleather, and that's it. :)

Hi guys, not sure if anyone is interested but the Hot Toys Jared Leto Suicide Squad Joker body uses the same mould as the Hot Toys Han Solo body which is what I will be eventually using for my custom Max. The arms are fairly slim and (rather barrel) chest aside it's fairly ideal for Max. The Joker body would have to be painted though as it's rather pale in skin tone (plus there's a neck tatoo, not so good). Not sure how the Premier Max outfit would look on it though.

I almost bought the S01 for Max but thought it might be too tall. That looks great in Asta’s pic and looks to be the best choice. $37 on eBay and it’s on the way.

I'm so glad that you tried this body. My plan was to try out the JX01 body (not the small) as well as a Soldier Story body that I have and see which one worked out the best. I really like how the JX body looks here. It is also the body that utilized for my custom "Raiders" Indy.

I think one of the best parts of using this figure is the elimination of the "barrel chest", along with the thinning down of the rest of the figure. The head sculpt looks better proportioned in these pics, too.

I'm actually feeling pretty good about this figure, now.

The JX01 is the one they refer to as "small" in their photo.

This was the one I got:

https://www.kghobby.com/jxtoys-s01-1-6-male-asian-muscular-figure-body/

The dimensions are very similar to the Ganghood 2.0. They're both about 8cm wide across the shoulders. The main difference is that the JX has longer legs, which meant taking half the white tack out of the boots to compensate.

It must've been due to the extra height why I changed it out for the GH 2.0 on the Peter Parker figure, but forgot to update my records.

Great job, but I'm sorry about the shoulder armor issue 🙈 It's as if you are doing your best to save the figure while it insists on collapsing. WHY they keep attaching things to pleather with glue? I remember a nice Damtoys jacket almost ruined because they put some patches glued on the pleather...

It probably happened because I changed the jacket too many times, and the armour got caught getting his arm out.

It doesn't show much under the armour, and it did seem to free up the jacket afterwards.

Yep, that's the one that I have. JX Toys S-01. Looking forward to working on this figure, now. My only other concern will be obtaining a better head sculpt but I believe there's a project going on at the Customs forum.

By the way, I don't see how the JX Toys S-01 body could be used for a Peter Parker figure. It is way too tall. I think that it is perfect for a 5'11" figure, give an inch either way. It works perfectly for my Indy figure.

Just in case I've got a different version, here's a quick pic:
