Ringwraith and Sauron are still coming. I'd like to see Boromir, Gimli and Arwen (maybe a Sarumon). Then they can close up PF shop. I'd probably supplement with a few of the LotR 1:4 busts after that to round out the display.

And what of the Hobbits...do you not want the Hobbits? :lol

I think this line will gain more steam as the year goes on and excitement for the hobbit builds.

The problem with lotr PF line is because of the cloth those characters wear, when you make them into mixed media statue with actual fabrics in a static standing pose, they all look like grandma's old doll collection.

The 1/5 all polystone series is more dynamic and captures the essences of those characters much better in my opinion. It would be great if they made those in 1/4 scale, but i still would pick the 1/5 over the existing PF.

Only PF that is nice is smeagol because he essentially is just polystone and the pose is very dynamic which is a big departure from the other PFs.

GtG, Lurtz, Berserker?? The humans I think it would be a worthy debate, but the dynamics of especially Lurtz and the Berserker beats the pants off any 1/5 scale they have released thus far.

I disagree. My Gandalf the Grey, Gollum and even Gandalf the White beat out the 1/5 versions. The fabrics are of such high quality. GTG and Gollum especially look like shrunked down versions of Andy Serkis and Ian Mckellan.

I haven't been on in ages, as work has been crazy busy, and they have been watching our internet traffic, so I have been lurking from my phone. Sideshow has certainly announced that the Ringwraith on Steed and Sauron Premium Format (or Legendary Scale in the case of Sauron) are in the works, but the Premium Format line is not complete without the rest of the Hobbits and Gimli and Boromir.

Sideshow needs to complete the Fellowship in this format, as the cloth nature of the Premium Format line is perfectly suited to the Lord of the Rings License. The various elements that would make up these collectibles would be amazing, from Pippin's scarf to Boromir's fur-lined cloak. The Premium Format line look like anything but "grandma's dolls" too. The sculpts on almost every single figure are top notch, and the cloth elements only add to the level of detail.

I keep hoping to see news on the LOTR Premium Format and Maquette line from week to week, and I hope that Sideshow has enough sense to bring out Merry, Sam and Pippin to match the release of the Hobbit in theaters. It has been far too long since we have had a PF offering!!

I meant the good guys including gtg even though it's a nice piece. On the other side it's a different story. Lurtz/berserker/orc are all very dynamic and looks great, i think one of the reason is because they wear armor and not dressed in those victorian silk cloth.

so basically, the best pf's beat out the best maquettes by far :lecture. All I want is the RWOS damnit!

They need to redo Frodo as well if you ask me.

I wouldn't mind if they bunched them. Frodo and Sam on one base and Merry and Pippin together for another release.

But thruthfully, before the hobbits, I want Gimli and Boromir (in a pose blowing in his horn, no sexual references plz :lol).

For the Hobbit movie, obviously I want Bilbo, Beorn, Thorin, King Thranduil and maybe Bard. I don't think I'm going to want all the Dwarves.

How about an Elrond. Either in his ceremonial attire or his battle attire in the Fellowship prologue.

:lecture :exactly:

They definitely need to redo Frodo with a better sculpt. It'd be great if they could somehow release Frodo and Sam together to compliment a display with Gollum...and then release Merry and Pippin together. But I think they said due to the complexity of costumes, blah, blah, they'd be done as individual pieces.

I really want GIMLI and SARUMAN (to compliment the Aragorn/Legolas and Gandalf The Grey I have already). I would definitely be interested in Boromir too. Outside of that, anything else is 'add-on' for me, but these are MUST-HAVES IMO. :yess:

Sure I'd like the hobbits as two-ups. Merry and Pippen and Sam and Frodo (which would hopefully mean a better Frodo sculpt). Just don't put the hobbits in armor. They need their Fellowship attire.

Saruman would be sweet too! My wife will begin thinking I got a thing for old men... ha. I just respect wisdom and intelligence above everything hence why Gandalf and similar characters (Obi-Wan for example) are of greater interest to me.

I think a Saruman PF would put some life back into this line for sure and would look great next to a GTG PF!!!!

My thoughts exactly! :hi5:

SS did mention when they were starting on Sauron that Saruman was in the preliminary development stages as well. Let's hope he comes to fruition at some point soon!

I would love to see this line continue as I just started collection LOTR PF's.
