its funny, this talk of working for SS just reminded me.
Back right before I found out about this forum during the SS chat during SDCC05 I asked if they needed a graphic designer, kidding around, and they told me that in fact they did need one and for me to send my resumé in.
would be REALLY cool to work there, but Im doing ok now where Im at and the cost of living along with regular tremors would scare the crap outta me!
consider this thread officially DERAILED.

You don't have anything to loose by doing it, have you? And if they call you and says you got the job and you get cold feet, you could alway turn it down (for now) That way they do have you listed in the archieves for the future...

I am suprised that Fedex or Sideshow themselves would even accept that in the first place... should the damage been made before sideshow release it, - then they shouldn't... if it is by Fedex... they will be immediately held responsible for damage to customer's goods... This is certainly not the first time that Fedex do business with SS, and will certainly know the nature of their business... COLLECTIBLES man!! - So becareful man!!
