There's no reason to hold other people to your standards man. Some people like their boxes in good condition.

Just because you dont mind, doesnt mean that he shouldnt either. sheesh.

I'm not holding anyone to any standard, i said "personally" .
I wouldn't mind if they shipped there statues in brown boxes,
I keep them in the attic where i never see them anyway...

12" figures is another thing, there i like the boxes because i display them sometimes.
But that's not the case for PF figures !

Anyway, I like it the way it is now, I don't complain
And the poster has his right to complain too, as he paid the shipping company to deliver it perfectly...

and you would probably regret it later on if you didn't
Don't you think

....or do you have a lady in sight that you don't want to move away from :D

Sorry to rehijack this. Didn't see this post Stig.

Yeah, I would probably regret it.

No no lady friends right now.

Well, my personal opinion is that I would like both the box and my collectible in good condition and definetely without a hole in it! That is why we pay shipping costs in the first place.

Me, I would keep the box just in case I need to sell my stuff down the road, due to unfortunate circumstances. You know how picky those eBay bidders are.

Mashed up boxes isn't fun
Here is one of mine - it is supposed to be square...

omg cant believe the state of the box even with the fragile tape on it. what on earth were the postal ppl thinking. i can't imagine the look on the face of the person who delivered it, isn't he at all embarassed even if he is not at fault but to pass a customer a damaged box like that...funny

anyway i did think of how best damage can be minimised to the product box. have the foam corner spacers just a little bigger so there is more gap btw the outer box and product box. then have all that space filled with either foam peanuts/pieces whatever u call them. airbags could work too but i was thinking what if the airbags burst, then there wouldnt be any protection anymore.

I think they mixed up the tape.

They were supposed to put "please throw me around and stomp on me" tape, instead of the fragile one!

That's a disgrace but this box obviously got very wet and had way too much extra space in it. It's amazing what a little water will do to some cheap card board.

Ah yes, which reminds me very poor packing is another factor too. I doesn't mean that it is the postal people who mistreat it. Care must be taken to fill up any empty spaces tightly. Just throwing in some pieces of crushed newspaper will not work if it is not compact for example.

The case I logged with sideshow was escalated, and I received word yesterday from one of Sideshows customer service department workers.

They are unable to send me a replacement box. Apparently there are none available. Sideshow is willing however to refund me a small amount of the retail price back to me.

Although this is not what I was expecting to hear from them, I guess its better than nothing. Ideally I would have liked to receive my item in a not so damaged box, as I consider the package to be equally important as the product itself.

Yeah I agree...If the outer box wasn't so important, SS wouldn't put the cool graphics on them...But, the problem isn't really Sideshow's...it's those damn courier companies..:emperor ..

And when you put "fragile" on a carton....That is just ASKING for trouble.

That is totally unacceptable. Its not as though these postal companies deliver for free...I mean it costs a lot of money, so in return they should take care of the packages they deliver.

I would take the box back to the person who delivered it and throw it at him in disgrace.

These companies have no care for the condition of the packages delivered. Only the bottom line. Its such a pitty.
