Forgot Denny.

Happy birthday....................... Did anyone buy you a figure... ;)

Thanks...^^

I have had a terrible toothache.....I gotta see a dentist a bit later.

Terrible days~~with my teeth...couldnt sleep at all. Just worked.

Had no party at all..;; lol

Anyway, I am deleting my post....I was too upset, and I delete it.
not good for me .

From now on, I will leave it to him regardless of negative or positive.

Thanks!

Denny

Denny I hope you feel better with the toothache an all. Now this would be a dream figure for me. Gordon Liu as PaiMei. Yeah I'm down.

Happy birthday!

Maybe not buy, but his friends should take him out on a crazy night and "rent" him a 1/1 scale real female figure.
Just a thought. :monkey1:monkey3

I think things are being blown out of proportion from Pop's comments, but I can see how Wake could take some of them personally. And I also see now that Denny is a very sensitive guy who isn't keen on public criticism. But I think it's a bit unfortunate, not because of Pop's comments specifically, but because he's trying to speak his mind honestly on a public discussion forum, and he just gets assaulted by everyone because of it. So what is the takeaway lesson? That folks are going to hold their tongue on more and more issues when it comes to Iminime. And how rewarding can conversations be when that is the case? But it is what it is. I have learned that some discussions have to happen behind closed doors. And that's cool, though there are drawbacks to that.

I'm not going to hold my tongue. When I've got something to say or questions to ask about pricing or any other figure-related issue, I'll make it known in a clear and civil manner - and I would hope and expect that every single member here does the same.

People moaning about prices need to sit down and try to sew a 1:6 outfit. I have been working at sewing 1:6 outfits for three years and I cannot begin to express how much frustration is involved. It humbles a perfectionist quickly and can make an experienced seamstress feel like a failure.

I bought the motorcycle version. The reasons it is more expensive are justifiably self-evident to me at a glance, based on making my own outfits. Sourcing the fabric alone would knock many people out of the game before sewing a single stitch.

Unlike sculpting, everyone doing 1:6 scale clothes is inventing things as they go along. Work on 1:6 outfits requires a novel approach for which there is no accepted techniques or tools. All of the established approaches to fitting and sewing are designed around full-sized articles, and only partially translate.

There is a reason this hobby has a plethora of sculptors and very few people who can produce outfits. What Denny is doing is amazing for the price.

I dont see any reason why people keep saying its tough, its tough, so cost is justifyable, i manage a business for an organisation, my customers complain all the time. I feel bad. But clients are clients ... Infact i appreciate complains as much as accolades cause complains pose an awesome opportunity to figure out innovative ways to do things right and reduce cost. Unless someone goes on an abusive rant.

My job is tough, and i "cant" go back and say to my clients who are CXOs who trusted me with a x million business that my or my teams job is tough so pls understand and shell more than market price or at least understand that i will charge extra for better quality, or more so, buy it or leave it but dont complain or share feedback. Every product has a cost value curve attached to it. I appreciate art and artists, but we all work for passion, and yes for money. So, i am passionate, the artists are passionate, my organisation is passionate, my clients are passionate. So lets leave all of that aside. However if some people feel something is expensive or something is off - they have the right to say so. Thats what forums are for. Otherwise we should just have a "like" button everywhere and leave it to that. Artists need to get a thicker stomach, and collectors need to get constructive in their criticism.

Once again its not for denny or team. All i am saying is people are expected to react cause 1000 dollar is not a small amount for anyone. I understand 1000 dollar gives you 3 figures and its great who wants to buy it, for all i know if i am able to save money i will buy it too, but dosnt mean its cheap or rightly priced. Come on guys give both collectors and artists a break!

Well.... I already got an earful via several PMs so I guess I'm all caught up. Thanks boys :).

I understand where Denny is coming from so I won't take offence to anything that he said. He believes that because of our relationship I should not say certain things publicly and should keep certain concerns via PM. He's 100% right and shame on me for making the same mistake after the last time.

But the whole "the guy I met in person isn't the same guy on the boards" did get to me though. I'm 1000% the same guy. It's funny how things can be easily misunderstood and taken offensively. If I was different I could have easily got offended and took offence when I told Denny that I got him a B-day present at ComicCon and asked him for the best address to send it to and he replied, "Thanks for the kindness. it’s ok that the message is reached. don’t need to send it to all the way to here".

I could have easily taken that differently, but I didn't because I understood. He didn't know what the present was so there was no way he could realize how much time I took going between two venders and hand picking an 11" X 17" movie poster in a semi-hard plastic cover for every figure that he ever made, and inspecting the stock of each one to pick the ones in the best condition. These are just the ones that I bought at ComicCon; I ordered the rest of what I couldn't find there online so he’d have the full body of work. I figured that it would be a cool way to decorate the office and maybe a tradition to keep up with

I thought up this e-card and presented it to Devil. I said “It’s Denny’s B-day and I need your help whipping up a card. Can you make the ‘Don’t Open Dead Inside’ doors burst open and zombies come out with party hats and a cake”. And this is what he came back with…. I gotta give him credit for the Iminime tee shirt, the eyeball pop & the "happy Brainday" :lol

I think that I’m very much the same guy. It’s a shame that Denny sees that differently because I questioned the color of a rifle and a change in price to package ratio

You need to be taken out back and shot with a screen inaccurate rifle while Denny's accountant recites his excel spreadhseets at you :lecture

Popcultkid, you are getting very serious about this. Relax man. He was hurt, you are hurt, he apologised, you did the same too. Why worry so much. You guys are friends and thats great. But he also has a business, he has friends, clients and also VIP buyers. So relationships have different levels, but am sure all clients are imp to him and so is their feeback, cause i cannot imagine that to be any other way.

Bottom line be constructive in what you share so that the artists can act on it or at least consider or evaluate acting on it. Rest i dont think people should refrain from speaking or sharing feedback. Also, never apologise for speaking your heart out unless you spoke in the wrong way and used the wrong words!

My dad would always tell me,to be successful always be surrounded by people who push you to do better than what you last did, and more importantly ignore the ones who always agree and never think differently or critically.

Also, Its his birthday so open a cold one for him and more importantly for you! :)

Start a new subject now on :)
