Well sorry guys but after reading pages and pages of this gash, I've come to the conclusion that Sideshow are off their heads by making this piece.
a) because there is just so many differen't pieces that could be made and sold out a lot quicker.
b) It IS overpriced as everybody has overlooked the fact that most of sideshow stuff is made in China. Its a bit like trying to get £799 for the AVP hybrid etc!
c) I might go and start a Hasbro thread forum cause for under $20 two face looked damn cool !! :lol :lol :lol

A collectible is nothing more than something that can be collected, which is to say accumulated for ones own personal possession, ie collection. It also indicates making something that has no other value other than to be collected. You can't DO anything with a statue, and since most of their action figures are so elaborate, they won't be played with (kind of like elaborate swimsuits that never even get wet, nor are they even meant to, and hence aren't REALLY even swimsuits anymore) nor can you DO much of anything with anything else they make, and thus, they are strictly collectibles, and not tools, or anything else with any practical value. They are all basically emotionally based driven type products that are intended just to be looked at.
Something DOES NOT need to be limited in order to be collectible, NOR does it have to be valuable. A valuable collectible is an INVESTMENT. There can be investment value IN collectibles, but that isn't their explicit purpose. Their explicit purpose is about the art and about how they make people feel to look at, which is why people make them and buy them in the first place. Unless of course you have no passion for them and no soul and only buy them for investment value with no regard for the art, in which case you might as well be buying stocks, but I digress.

You completely missed my point but whatever...

Still not completely positive I'm keeping it though. As much as I like it, $530 is a lot of dough. Regular and Exclusive better be a very low ES.

Sideshow figures used to be $40. Now they are $80 while the cost of everything else in the world has not doubled. Can you explain that?

Almost every figure manufacturer has doubled their price over the last 2 years. Toybiz used to sell Marvel Legends for $6.99 and now Hasblow is charging $13.99 for Marvel Legends.

Besides, everything in the world isn't derived from oil products.

Abom has some awesome friends awaiting for him...

Definitely will have the funds by second quarter and the way SS is going now they are gonna be delaying again with all this great stuff coming out next year!!!

I think a better word would be that it is an "unauthorized" statue. It doesn't pretend to be ANY statue other than the unique statue that it is. Thus, it cannot be a fake. A fake is only a fake because it is pretending to be something that it isn't. Andy Warhol used the design of the Campbell's soup label to make a painting. Does that make the painting a fake?

Blackthorone's take on recasts.....

This guy can't be serious.

Blackthorone's take on recasts.....

This guy can't be serious.

If too few of something is made and it costs too much on the secondary market as a result, then recasts are a guarantee. Low ES and high demand is ASKING for recasts to be made. Frankly, I think that recasts are what are deserved when you make too few of something. Recasts hurting overinflated value of originals on secondary market and now you can't resell your originals for as much and you lose profits? Get a life. Make money some other way, like by working, or contributing to this world. There are more important things in life than protecting the profit of resellers. I wouldn't buy a recast, unless it was less than the cost of an original, and looked almost indistinguishable from the original, and the original was super expensive. I like originality and quality, but come on, there are more important things in the world than protecting the appreciated worth of material possessions.
