Well sorry guys but after reading pages and pages of this gash, I've come to the conclusion that Sideshow are off their heads by making this piece.
a) because there is just so many differen't pieces that could be made and sold out a lot quicker.
b) It IS overpriced as everybody has overlooked the fact that most of sideshow stuff is made in China. Its a bit like trying to get £799 for the AVP hybrid etc!
c) I might go and start a Hasbro thread forum cause for under $20 two face looked damn cool !!
I SHOULD deserve a very very low #....
And I just wanted to point out that Shell is MY friend now! Go get em' Shell.

I suppose this makes me a "gaymo?" It's worth it for this big bastard.

A collectible is nothing more than something that can be collected, which is to say accumulated for ones own personal possession, ie collection. It also indicates making something that has no other value other than to be collected. You can't DO anything with a statue, and since most of their action figures are so elaborate, they won't be played with (kind of like elaborate swimsuits that never even get wet, nor are they even meant to, and hence aren't REALLY even swimsuits anymore) nor can you DO much of anything with anything else they make, and thus, they are strictly collectibles, and not tools, or anything else with any practical value. They are all basically emotionally based driven type products that are intended just to be looked at.
Something DOES NOT need to be limited in order to be collectible, NOR does it have to be valuable. A valuable collectible is an INVESTMENT. There can be investment value IN collectibles, but that isn't their explicit purpose. Their explicit purpose is about the art and about how they make people feel to look at, which is why people make them and buy them in the first place. Unless of course you have no passion for them and no soul and only buy them for investment value with no regard for the art, in which case you might as well be buying stocks, but I digress.
And I just wanted to point out that Shell is MY friend now! Go get em' Shell.

Sideshow figures used to be $40. Now they are $80 while the cost of everything else in the world has not doubled. Can you explain that?
I think a better word would be that it is an "unauthorized" statue. It doesn't pretend to be ANY statue other than the unique statue that it is. Thus, it cannot be a fake. A fake is only a fake because it is pretending to be something that it isn't. Andy Warhol used the design of the Campbell's soup label to make a painting. Does that make the painting a fake?
What happened to all my great posts.. Geez...
