Answer from Prime 1 to a customer. That is not professional. “Prototypes are prototypes…” what the f*** is that!
that’s not legit and shouldn’t be legal to sell items with photos from something that is not a production piece. They are announcing items with photos from a professional painter from a unit 1/1 in the world, and then you receive what the factory can achieve after you paid the preorder. That shows that they sell smoke. No more Prime 1 for me!
I dont see any problem with their response. Its just common sense. Unless you're living under a rock or extremely new to collection, There is a reason why all companies have a disclaimer that final production pieces may differ from prototype.
Of course, they are selling a product so they will use the best lighting, the best whatever to sell their products.
As consumers we can only hope that they can be as good as prototype, and there are some instances where the final production piece is even better than the prototype.
My opinion from seeing other final production piece of the bust, I think its as good as the final production piece they showed last time.
Do I detect a difference? Yes, I see the difference on the black smear.
But overall, is there a reduction in quality? No. I think its as good as that last picture they showed of the final production photo.
The thing with a joker sculpt is that lighting is a key. Even on my 1/6 Joker, I dont just stick him on a shelf with an LED. I play around with placement. Put him at the back and the white makeup starts to appear more like a cream white color. Put him directly under the LED lights and he's gonna be extremely white and you cant even detect the flesh tones underneath. Place him somewhere in the middle, and he looks better where the make-up will appear more white, and still see some flesh tones in other areas.
I've seen other pictures from other collectors who received their bust, and to me, there's no reduction in quality.
If people are expecting that putting the Joker bust will now make this the best 1/3 Joker, well...then, you'll be disappointed. That crown still goes to Queen Studios.
