Kind of bums me out that they idealized the sculpt a bit IMO. Bolaji was slender, but this statue looks especially skinny compared to the Sano and CP maquette. Details and paint apps are sharper, but if I squint my eyes, the body shape isn't as pleasing.

Totally agree, that's what i think too, but i love that koto pose so i'm sure in hands it will be way more impressive. can't stop thinking about that drool, really hope it won't kill the piece.

Well this is kind of my issue, I'm not sure these are "The" Aliens. I mean I really like it (Both poses) But they are undoubtedly highly stylized and I tend to favour screen accuracy. I would love to get one of these, but having such a high cost to get one is making it a very difficult decision. Having the little Koto beside me now which has the same pose, only applied much better with way more nuance isn't helping either. I'm thinking that if I'm going to pay this kind of money, maybe I should just try to get the Mamegyorai instead. I know the pose splits opinions, but I love it, that thing was created with a true labor of love and it shows. I don't see that in these as much as I do like them. If I do get one of these, I'm sure I will love having it around. But if I don't, I'm not sure I will be too regretful. If the base price were a bit lower, and shipping costs weren't ridiculous atm, I'd grab one of these without even flinching.
Yes, I understand what you are saying and that is why I will keep my Alien Giger’s Maquette. About the Mamegyorai I can also find things if I want: the pose, which although it is very iconic, for me hides detail, or the painting that is far from what they showed in the prototype. even with the Dog Alien which for me is the best alien figure by far right now, it is said that it is not 100% accurate and that Prime 1 has stylized it a bit etc ... in the end they are monsters from 30 and 40 years ago and I see good that small improvements are made that do not alter the product in a significant way. For me Prime 1's big chap Alien is everything an Alien should be and what I dream of when Im having nightmares (lol) We will have to see the final result but I think it will be another “Dog Alien” but with a lower ES ...

I think this is a repaint of the Sano Big Chap. That's some incredible paint actually. I see people over doing the chap and making it look like granite or something. But this is amazing, I hope our Chap is on this level.

Perfect. Those proportions, I can get behind. Granted, it's not a suit recreation, but it captures that man-in-a-suit feel that I really enjoy seeing in Alien and Aliens pieces. Shame it's so small.

Well, the only issue is that it is a replica of the fiber glass statue used to make the suit. The suit had multiple differences after it was made. The coolprops one is also the same. It is accurate to the statue but not the film. The Sano is very pretty though. Too small imo
What is the size difference between the Sano and this P1 edition?
The Sano 1/5 is around 19" while the P1 1/3 is around 35".
ah didnt realize this was 1/3! now price makes more sense haha

I agree. I'm not getting my hopes up about the paint on the Prime 1. I can also guarantee that they'll have the dome glued down so tight it will not be removable for repainting the skull. Here's the big NECA I painted up quick. I tried to simulate the latex and ink look that was done on the original suit.
Well done.
For the record... All Prime 1 pieces I have received have been close to Proto.

I'd be PISSED if the dome was removable. The mamegyorai Chap has all kinds of issues with their removable dome. They even give you sticky tape to put on to hold it. That is baaaaad. I still have my repainted neca chap 2015 version in the closet I think.

Yeah this is my 2015 Neca repaint and base. I put all of this stuff away and focused on Statues only. There is a part of me that misses that set up. The predator is necas as well, full repaint and re netting.
And because it's an Alien, it's closer in height to a 1/2 piece.
this will be 1st P1 statue for me
