PROMETHEUS

In Greek mythology, Prometheus (Ancient Greek: Προμηθεύς, "forethought")[1] is a Titan known for his wily intelligence, who stole sales from Medicom and gave it to Sideshow for their use. His myth has been treated by a number of ancient sources, in which Prometheus is credited with (or blamed for) playing a pivotal role in the early history of awesome 12" figures.

A thing of beauty... even if it's naked dude dolls.

Means no customizing of old SS head sculpts though. We're gonna start getting HT type heads. Too bad, I'd like to replace a lot of figures with the new body. Much better proportions.

why not? the wrist peg looks identical. I'll also wager the neck comes off like on the hot toys bodies as well. Just gonna take a little bit of work, but a swap should not be impossible.

Re: Sideshows new bodies pics

I don't think the wording of the blog bodes ill persay for Gandalf. It's just a matter of character.

You've got 2 new bodies, one intended for armored figures and one for dynamic standard figures. You've got Obi-Wan as the only armored piece right now, so naturally they give him the nod as a sample of that body, then you're left with Indy and Gandalf. I think they just wanted to give one example of each body in practice, and of the 2, Indy is a far better character to push a new body. Gandalf being the age he is, is the type of character you think hey new body sweet that'll help a lot; as many have said, the Buck could be on Gandalf and go unnoticed, but doesn't mean that's what they did. Plus, Indy has 2 heads so he's a great showcase of that functionality as well. All in All, Indy's a great flagship figure for Prometheus, and Obi-Wan is great for the armor body.

Re: Sideshows new bodies pics

Well as far as the old man stuff, I can tell you that my True Type HT body could be posed more naturally as a slumped old man than my Sidious-on-a-buck. So its not just action poses that would benefit from this new body.

Seems to me if they wanted people to get even more excited about the LOTR 1:6 line, then the best way to do that would be to announce Gandy on the new body. They haven't done that, yet, and I honestly doubt they will.

So I hope Gandy is on a Prometheus... But I have a feeling its a fool's hope.

Re: Sideshows new bodies pics

The thing about the new body is even for people like me that don't get crazy with the poses it will allow me to be totally happy with poses. The elbow or knees are where I want it almost that kind of thing.

Re: Sideshows new bodies pics

As Pixel has been trying to say all day long :)lol), I am pretty sure Gandalf is not on the new body. I am pretty sure, Sideshow would've let us know if it were by now.

You all do notice that the Prometeus is a less detailed Volks Neo-Guy.

If Gandalf is on a Buck then someone seriously needs to explain the reason behind the $90 price to me before I cancel it.

Compared to Indy, Clone Kenobi and the other figures in its own line the math just would not add up at all.

Should we brace ourselves for another IrishJedi b#tch-fest with Sideshow like with the Boba PF?:monkey1

Nah. If they fail to justify the price (assuming it's on a Buck and not the new body, which remains to be seen) I'll just cancel. The slower sales and cancellations will do the talking, as usual. If it's on a Buck then there is no way it's worth $90 to me. End of story. I mean, that's only $30 less than the Palpatine 2-Pack. :huh

Re: Sideshows new bodies pics

Prometheus looks astoundingly like a taller version of my favorite body, the Volks Neo Guy. The little shells over the gaps in the shoulders are going to make Dagobah Luke bashes much nicer to look at. And Neo Guy doesn't fall over -- holds a pose forever.

:lol I was just joking. You were right then, too, when talking about Boba and the price. I just can't cancel GtG just because of the character, but I agree that the price is too high for something on the buck.
