Even on the true-type the joints don't look very good. But since most figures are pretty well covered it shouldn't be too huge of a deal.

I do hope Sideshow either goes back to painting exposed limbs, or casts bodies in a matching color... although paint would be my preference since it wouldn't be shiny.

I would like to have seen the nude Hobbit body in that shot as well.

You should send them a question asking why the Hobbit body isn't in the photo. :rotfl

Now, time for a new Female body! :monkey3

Come on. If the male body is this awesome, imagine the female's!

No, not really. Joints are joints, and joints are ugly.

Yeah, especially the cut above the elbow. But it' s probably better for certain poses.

Some great new developments are being made in Sideshow figure design to create exacting character representations, including the use of two new 12-inch male bodies! The Prometheus body, created by the Sideshow Collectibles Design and Development Team, has forms to fill out traditional garments more naturally, with smoother contours and muscle features. It also employs ball-joints at the wrists and ankles to give these areas a very wide range of articulation! The Armored Figure body, created in collaboration with Hot Toys, has a slimmer build to fit into armored costumes without looking bulky. Click on the following photo to get a closer look at the two and how they compare to our classic Art S. Buck bodies, and watch out for these new bodies in action as they’re used in some fantastic new 12-inch figures, such as our new Indiana Jones and General Obi-Wan Kenobi and many more to come!

Does anyone have pics of the hobbit body? I seem to remember it being a bit more of a hybrid between the new and the buck?

Note: Gandalf is not among the names listed as beneficiaries. :monkey2

I still think the new body will suffice for exposed limbs. There are very few characters in any of SS's lines that would require exposed limbs anyway.

Zartan
Quick Kick
Roadblock
Temple of Doom Indy
Slave Leia (this one they'll obviously have the most trouble with)
Aayla Secura

And that's pretty much it.

The new Prometheus body is even uglier than the buck! :lol Looks like it should be just as articulated (but where did the mid thigh joint go?) if not more so. It will be interesting to see how the new wrist joint works, because that was my favorite feature on the buck body.

It is odd though that the amored body isn't just a thinner Prometheus. Can't wait to get Obi-Wan and Indy to test out the new bodies.

I guess Gandalf might not be on the Prometheus then?

Uglier or not, the new body should hang much more naturally than the stiff looking Buck.

That's the most important aspect of a 1/6 body to me. It should look natural like a human being without bowel problems.

I don't understand why Gandalf isn't on the new body, especially considering the premium price tag.
