So it only happens with the fat PS3s. Wonder how long Sony knew about this?

THERE'S A FIX!!!!

~~~Good luck. I think it'll work itself out at midnight.
Maybe Sony's solution will be to remove the round sticker and wipe it with a moist finger.
Then when everybody keeps telling Sony that does not work, they can ignore them.
It's really annoying. I spent like 40$ the other night buying packs of cards to build my Ultimate Team for Madden. Now, I can't even play it...
:rolleyes:
This is exactly what I was saying people should avoid doing. It may work but I don't think it's worth it. Do people really feel THAT deprived of their video games?
As long as my Blu-Ray player keeps playing Blu-Rays, I'll be happy.
yeah I was kind of joking about it. Someone posted it on another forum labeled "easy PS3 fix" and I considered it before I clicked on the link and saw the intro to the video with his system completely broken down. I'd rather just wait it out until later tonight.
~~I'm pissed because I use my PS3 for more than just games. I threw a 500gb drive in it and loaded up music and movies on it.
Is the problem supposed to be fixed by midnight? Another update or something?
No worries, I didn't figure you were taking it seriously but I just think it's crazy the lengths people go to.
That's great that you got a 500GB HDD in it. I thought it wouldn't take anything over 250.
The internal clock or calendar is supposed to sort itself out or something.
Its in the air, but a lot of people on other forums are stating that when the clock rolls over tomorrow that it should in theory fix itself. And they're saying that's why Sony is waiting 24 hours to come up with something.
You know what "We hope to resolve this problem within the next 24 hours" means, right?
Translation:
"It's a clock/timer bug because your internal system mistakenly thinks it's Feb 29th. Oops. We're actually doing nothing until the day flips over into one that actually exists and hoping the problem goes away. Fingers crossed."
Ahhhh, I am sure that makes everyone feel much better :lol
Well I have my fingers crossed. Hopefully all will be well in an hour or so. If not, I guess I'll be buying 2 consoles with my tax return.
I have to say that if Sony's "resolution" to the issue is "Sorry your system got F'ed. Go buy another one" then I can see a lot of fans turning their backs on Sony totally.
