I could even imagine some of the game developers being pissed at Sony

For instance, just looking at this thread you can see a lot of people who aren't able to play Heavy Rain

I did the update on mine Saturday night. The clock was 1hr off then. For some reason it was set on Daylight Savings time so I took it off and the time was right. I have not booted up my system since.

So if I wait until 7pm EST ( 27 min from now ) and fire it up then it "should" be working properly?

i was playing MW2 with another online pal literally about 2 hours ago and it was fine! (hes got a slim, ive got a 2007 60G) but this was before i found out about the problem and havent used it since!

"Should be". I thought it would be midnight depending on the person's respective location.

I'm very skeptical this whole date change at midnight is gonna work. My PS3 now thinks its 12/31/1999. Why would it think its 3-2-2010 all of a sudden tomorrow?

The problem started when the internal clock rolled over to 2/29/2010. Since this year isn't a leap year February doesn't have 29 days. So, people say that once it rolls over to March 1st and all the clocks sync up, all will be fixed.

It has to do with the internal calendar which somehow differs from the time settings.

Just read on Blu-ray.com forums, it should be fixed! I am going to go check....brb....

It's working guys. Just turn your system on, no firmware update or anything.

Back to normal, like nothing ever happened to my PS3, :rock

I'm signed in to PSN and everything is working correctly.
:D

its gonna suck for them when it craps out on them and Sony tells them its there fault for not waiting for this to be resolved

Most definitely. All we needed was a little patience. Enjoy your PS3s again everyone :D
