There are no breaches in the EULAs as long as there are no lucrative purposes, which include renting, if anything, Gamestop will be the only ones breaching it only when renting games.

From what I've read, it's still not clear to the courts whether EULAS are completely legitimate and they have to check on a case by case scenario.

But I agree, no legal rights were gained, because the legal rights were already there.

Your kidding your self if you really believe publishers are going to drop the prices if it goes full digital. PC games that are digital don't get dropped in price at launch unless you buy from GMG. Steam usually has them full price at launch as well as every other place. Digital is not the way to go. For PC? Absolutely, but for a console no way. Theirs a big difference between the two and they need to stay that way.
I didn't say they would, I said it could. My point is prices are pretty much set even with "competition" amongst retailers.

Why is ok for one but not the other? A counsol is just a PC with limited capability so does it need to work different? So if price is the same, and they all have DRM at some point( your kidding yourself if you think this is a dead issue and I could see it slowly creaping in via other methods) why is it wrong?

Similar to my preference of having an actual book rather than read on a tablet, I like having a hard copy of my video games. I enjoy the box art and being able to hold the game in my hand. I even enjoy organizing my game library. I don't get that same feeling from downloadable games.

You may want to read a EULA.
Read this and come back telling me how it's ok to trade, or sell a game.

Rant incoming:

Seems like theres just alot of disdain in this thread for microsft no matter what they do. They make the adjustment and now their bashed for that.
Microsoft does produce a quality product.

Before anybody mentions the "redring blah blah blah", yes an inconvience. There were 360's that went down yes but right along side them were some ps3's as well. My 1st ps3 went down for one, not my 360 it worked fine til I traded it in for a slim. Every company makes mistakes, bad calls, and has issues. Doesn't always mean their not offering a quality product when these things happen.

As far as Microsoft backpedaling and tucking their tail between their legs..
Why can't they just be listening to consumer feedback and responding accordingly? Nothings wrong with that.. It be great if most companys did do that. Right?

Im not a fan boy on either side of the ball, my point is that we should all be open minded enough to enjoy the pros to both platforms.

Playstation has great exclusive franchises like GOW and now The last of us. They were smart with their conference during E3. Microsoft has xbox live and its own exclusives that are must plays. Halo, forza, and titanfall look like it will make that cut as well. They didn't really drop the ball during E3. Other things regarding these now changed policies distracted from their E3 offering.

Its more expensive ok.. And? That means it sucks all together and who wants that crap?? I dont get it. The kinect is a useful device regardless of how many use it all the time. O but let's not forget its there and the Feds are listening/watching ur every move because ur so interesting they can't help themselves right? Ok let's all log off and get to our bomb shelters and **** both systems then.

I was expecting much more anger in a rant :lol

I agree with you pretty much, It's great that they changed their minds for whatever reason, the customer wins, but apparently they're unwilling to recognise that they did it for the customer and instead, out of fear of the PS4 competition.

The announced exclusive games list for the Xbox One is just amazing:

-Dead Rising 3 (launch day)
-Ryse: Son of Rome (launch day)
-Forza 5 (launch day)
-Sunset Overdrive (2014)
-Quantum Break (2014)
-Titanfall (2014)

MS said 12 exclusives in the first year of X1. I didn't mention Kinect Sports, but that probably is one of the exclusives, so 7 announced and 5 more to come. Possibly Halo 5 for holiday 2014? Halo was teased by MS at E3.

Either way, it's hard to top the announced exclusives that have been announced for the X1. With the newly announced reversed policies by MS, the X1 has become the console of choice for me this coming November. That was the turning point, before that I was going to get a PS4.

Preshea, I was with you until you said the Kinect was a useful device. I kid. But not about the Kinect. It's a piece of a$$.

Microsoft just shouldn't have created a situation where they had to back-peddle like that. They read the market wrong and tried to force a DRM concept down the throats of gamers, who weren't willing to accept it. Don Mattrick then acted like a complete ********* after E3, and basically snubbed the military from next-gen gaming.

It's good that they were finally willing to admit that they were wrong. It'll take a while for people to forget about this entire situation, though. This was definitely the worst console reveal that I have ever seen in all of my years of console gaming.

To each his own bro.

I find myself using voice commands all the time. More movie watching when my hands are wet doing dishes kinda stuff than anything. But even some NON kinect games.
Like Mass effect with voice commands!! Not sure if u tried it but man it changes the whole dynamic of game play for a much better experience!

Consoles are supposed to be quick and easy. Pop in a disc and your good to go. PCs have never had that luxury. We used to get games on 5-6 discs and had to install each and every disc. It was a pain in the ***. Computer games can be HUGE compared to console games. If I had to install each and every disc of WoW and its expansions I would ****ing shoot my self. Plus add the fact that you have to download the patches as well. With Digital download for that game I can just click a button let it run over night and bam I am done. Consoles don't need digital games when you can just play off the disc.

The thing I love most about this whole episode is that most people against DRM have been shouting from the roof tops about "our rights" and "what about second hand game shops" all whilst downloading Game Of Thrones Season 3 and the best of Britney Spears torrents to their hard drives.

It's brilliant really.

Does that make DRM right? Is this about compensating? :dunno.

Plus I prefer Ariana Grande.
